Despite, as I wrote 2 days ago, @drugwars is doing really a very good work on attracting new players and possibly new STEEM users as well, after the last upgrade of the gamem on which transactions are not running anymore on the STEEM blockchain I am afraid that the game cannot be called anymore, if ever was, a DApp AKA “Decentralized Application”
According to Wikipedia: “A decentralized application (Dapp, dApp or DApp) is an application that is run by many users on a decentralized network with trustless protocols. They are designed to avoid any single point of failure. They typically have tokens to reward users for providing computing power.”
It is true that you still can interact minimally with the steem blockchain since you can share your battle in the internal forum which is connected somehow with STEEM and so eventually, get an upvote from @drugwars account from time to time but… this is really very far from what I understand would be the definition of a DApp itself since it is not running on a blockchain…or, at least, it is not running on the STEEM blockchain anymore, it is not clear to me if any layer of the game programm is really depending on a supposed FUTURE Token built on the OByte Blockchain but I guess… no?
However, State of DApps is still ranking DRUGWARS as the first one which in my opinion is a mistake…
I don’t know what is the criteria for being listed inside this ranking but it should be there also the possibility of “Delisting” a supposed DApp that is not anymore as so…
If someone “serious” and informed would come to the “State of the DApps” and find in a first place of the ranking something that seems not a true Decentralized App, probably he or they would not trust anymore on the information provided…and that, would be again a very bad message for the possible audience…
Editor’s Note: This article discusses the history of the
land on which Liberland has been founded, as well as how it would be in
the best interest of the regional powers for Liberland to be recognized
as a sovereign state.
When a country does not claim an area of land, it falls under the
international legal principle of terra nullius. This legal concept’s
Latin name roughly translates to “no man’s land”. While ‘no man’s land’
as a concept has existed forever, the legal term was coined in times
past when countries were laying claims to Antarctica and Australia. To
be classified as terra nullius, a plot of land must either have never
been claimed by a sovereign nation or have been formally given up by a
nation whom previously claimed it. As Antarctica currently has treaties
that bar countries from claiming it, many assume that the last true
example of terra nullius has been claimed.[1] After all, it seems that every available terrain in the world has been either claimed or barred from claiming. Or has it?
A modern example of terra nullius can be found in the Siga, a plot of
land located between Croatia and Serbia. The two countries agree that
the Danube River’s flow marks the border between the nations, however,
Croatia and Serbia disagree on one key factor – whether the border is in
line with the current or the historical path of the river.[2]
Each side has chosen the view that gives them the most land, with Croatia claiming the historical and Serbia the current.[3] This
has left the Gornja Siga a riverfront piece of land, unclaimed (with
the exception of the claim of the Free Republic of Liberland since April
2015) as both sides believe the other should hold it.
Since neither country believes the Siga is theirs, both Serbia and
Croatia have given up their claim, rendering the land terra nullius. The
countries have not just implicitly given up their claim; they have
announced that they do not own the land. Croatia claims that the land
belongs to Serbia; however, Serbia disagrees. While Croatia currently
stations police on the land under the guise of protecting the land for
Serbia, this act does not negate terra nullius because Serbia insists it
does not have, and does not want to have ownership of it.[4] The land sat unclaimed for over 25 years.[5] According
to international legal precedent, the land has been terra nullius,
whether the two nations would like to admit it or not.
Terra nullius can be problematic, as anyone can legally claim land
that falls under it. Any country on earth could enter and assert control
over that land. There is little stopping a large country from claiming
the land or fabricating a historic claim to it. This is currently
happening across the globe and could easily happen in the Gornja Siga.
After the Second World War, Japan was forced to give up its claim to
much of its empire. This resulted some land entering a state of
uncertainty, specifically small, uninhabited islands in the South China
Sea. The treaty did not clarify which countries subjugated by Japan
would own what and many of these islands were already disputed before
Japan was even involved. These current disputes now involve China,
Vietnam, Taiwan, and the Philippines, with China asserting its claim
most aggressively.[6] Like the Gornja Siga, these islands are uninhabited, making any terra nullius claims even stronger.[7] The
situation in the South China Sea is different from that of the Gornja
Siga, as multiple nations are simultaneously asserting conflicting
ownership claims. Unfortunately, this may soon also be the case in the
Gornja Siga. The longer this land remains unoccupied, the more likely a
situation like that of the South China Sea is to arise.[8]
One of the reasons that countries seek control over the islands in
the South China Sea is the region’s strategic importance. While the
Gornja Siga is not as economically significant as the trade-heavy South
China Sea, the region is extremely politically important.
The Gornja Siga is on the border of the EU; Croatia is an EU member state[9], and in the middle of NATO territory.[10] From
a geopolitical perspective, while Croatia and Serbia are not generally
targets for bullying, the EU and NATO both are. Russia, China or the
United States could benefit from a land claim over the Gornja Siga to
further exert power over Western Europe and the international waterway
that borders the region, The Danube. It should be noted that, while the
Gornja Siga is small, it is not so small that a missile silo cannot be
built on it.[11]
The Gornja Siga is a liability to the stability of the Balkans and
the safety of the EU. The issue likely will not be resolved on its own,
as Croatia and Serbia have let this issue sit unresolved for decades
while making no progress. Neither country intends to claim the land
because of concerns that doing so would stir up another border conflict
in the region. Although the two nations are no longer at war, it will
not take much for another widespread conflict to arise. This reality
inevitably strengthens the legal argument that the land should be
considered terra nullius. Neither side is willing to negotiate, and the
land continues to sit empty. However, there may be a way for the Gornja
Siga to be relieved from its instability without Serbia and Croatia
being forced to bargain unwillingly.
In 2015, the Gornja Siga was claimed by a libertarian organization
which seeks to create a country called Free Republic of Liberland.[12] This
microstate currently has a working government and emphasizes principles
of democracy and freedom. The government intends to use blockchain
technology to ensure transparency within its voting system and to ensure
checks and balances. Liberland’s president, Vít Jedlička, has become an
international spokesperson for transparent governance.[13] Liberland’s main goal is to promote freedom and economic growth within the region.
While Liberland has already had around six hundred thousand people
apply for citizenship online, The Free Republic of Liberland currently
exists in limbo. The government serves in exile, due to Croatia’s
blockading its access to the land.[14] While
the organization does have foreign representative offices and an active
government, Liberland’s recognition as a state may remain only an
aspiration until the country can assert its sovereignty through having a
physical presence on the land.[15] Taking physical possession of the land will not be an easy task — it will require enormous diplomatic and legal efforts.[16] Currently, Croatia arrests anyone who enters into the Gornja Siga.[17]
What Croatia does not realize is that Liberland could be the perfect
solution for the Gornja Siga’s instability. Liberland does not intend to
cause any trouble in the area, despite Croatia’s assumptions to the
contrary.[18] Liberland’s minarchist
government would pose less of a threat than large foreign powers with
stakes in the region. Liberland also has no desire to be a military
threat, nor to even have an army in the first place.
Economically, a country with land elsewhere would likely not invest
in the Gornja Siga. It is uninhabited marshland that would be
disconnected from their trade network. It would not make sense for the
country to grow the area economically when there are far more suitable
places to put infrastructure in their homeland. Even if Serbia or
Croatia decided between the two of them within whose borders the land
exists, the area would likely remain as it is because there are simply
easier places to develop. On the other hand, Liberland would have no
option but to invest in the Gornja Siga. They are already working with
surrounding communities to try to grow their trade network.[19] As
a hub of commerce itself, with nearby communities with existing
infrastructure, such as Apatin and Sombor in Serbia and Osijek and
Vukovar in Croatia, Liberland would expand trade in the entire region.
Under Terra Nullius, the Liberland government asserts that their
claim to the land is completely legal and should be respected by Croatia
and Serbia.[20] Liberland’s proponents
also believe that recognizing Liberland’s claim to the Gornja Siga is
the best way for both neighboring countries to resolve their regional
stalemate and reduce risks of foreign intervention.
Moreover, Croatia is knowingly breaking international laws each time
it exercises false sovereignty over the Gornja Siga while simultaneously
claiming they do not own it. Croatia has no legal right to arrest
Liberland’s citizens when they attempt to enter and settle the Gornja
Siga. Even if Croatian police were correct in asserting that the land
belongs to Serbia, they would have no authority to arrest the citizens
of Liberland in Serbia, especially when Serbia’s official comment is
that the new state does not infringe upon their borders. This legal
dilemma for Croatia only further exemplifies a need to fix the issue of
where Gornja Siga lies.
To leave this dispute undecided any longer is extremely dangerous
because the longer the land goes unclaimed, the more entities may
attempt to take advantage of the terra nullius. Recognizing Liberland’s
dream of creating a small, economically productive, transparent nation
on the Danube may be the best option for solving Croatia’s and Serbia’s
terra nullius problem. Other entities that may benefit from the land may
not have such pure intentions.

… by following the useful and quick tutorial written by my friend @ervin-lemark , I have managed to bind my twitter account and also my steem account, earning just for these two actions 100 SNAX which means a value of… well, nobody knows yet but it is very likely that it would have some value in the future… Do not ask me why because I am still learning from the whitepaper and studying the Roadmap.
But what I can tell you is that this project tries to reward the Social Media content creators with an specific token that seems to evaluate and measure the level of engagement, influence , followers etc…
From the whitepaper we can read:
“We want to offer a solution which allows to measure the value of a public content transparently and reward its creators without pushing social platforms to change established business models.“
Also, from point 3 of the same document:
“SNAX is a utility token, which provides users with access to Snax economy, and is based on rewarding active and influential users on public social platforms. Users can transfer SNAX tokens to each other, stake SNAX to vote for block producers and buy computing resources for dApps. Any user has three main ways to earn Snax tokens:
Receive Regular Publisher Rewards.
Receive donations from other users willing to support the author of the interesting content.
To be elected as a Block Producer and receive Block Producer Rewards.“
I am really curious to see how all this project evolves and, of course, for the moment it looks like free-token for everybody so, I like it 😉

The EOS software infrastructure and its related parameters and functionalities are complex and even more complicated for a new user.
It took me ages before I could finally take the leap to adopt the blockchain.
As much as I understand the purpose why a user needs to purchase a wallet account before accessing the core functions and uses of the system – as a preventive measure to curb spamming activities.
I found myself earlier failing to get one at every attempt I made to at least try out a single one.
Concepts like CPU, NET and RAM were already getting me confused to begin with, then I discovered I had to buy and stake some of these resources (I was finally chased away).
I asked myself; why do I need to venture into all this when I can just send and receive coins right in my Ethereum address.
Gradually, I find the whole EOS concepts as unfriendly and convinced myself the blockchain would be difficult to be adopted by any new user.
Maybe am right on this to a degree, maybe am not, I am still yet to justify that, but in the past 6 six months after finally getting a EOS username account through a free means, I found myself loving so much a system I criticized in the past.
Regarding my low adoption assumption – EOS is now the #1 blockchain in terms of daily activities and usage as reported by blocktivity.info and is a very close competitor to STEEM when we talk of the adoption rate.
Despite this truce and loving and favoritism, EOS still pronounce itself as a complicated structure to deal with by its extensive features.
One feature I would like to discuss in this post which is not so unique to EOS alone but is also seen with other DPoS blockchains or in short ‘Dan Larimer’s masterminded blockchains‘ is the disparity between Active Key and Owner Key.
In a simple description, both keys can be regarded as the private keys of a wallet.
That is, they can both send, sign, authenticate and permit transactions.
Both perform higher functions of a wallet like voting for BP and permit permissions.
Initially, when the EOSIO blockchain set off specifically during the genesis snapshot both keys were merged as a single unit carrying equal weight and functions. Every account created at that period were provided with a single private key which can be regarded now as the owner key as it was needed to later create other keys.
Further, as development continued, account creation provides users with a separate owner and active keys.
How They Are Differentiated
One major striking difference between these two keys is that; the owner key represents the ownership of an account. It is the most important and powerful key. The owner key can overwrite itself and all other keys. Whereas, the active key is permission-granted-key which can perform all higher functions of an account except that it can be changed, destroy and overwrite. It is not a claim of ownership to an account.
In real-life assumptions, the owner key can be compared to a master key of an entire house which is able to open all rooms. In the other light, the active key can be regarded as room(s) specific key.
In another comparison – the owner key can be likened to the president of a society or the highest authority of a constituency while the active key can be represented as the vice of a president or a representative of an important figure.
Later after the Genesis account batches. Users were advice to enable their active key permission for good security reasons.
Which can be carried out by importing the owner key to a wallet that supports this procedure and then enabling the active key permission.
The greymass desktop wallet does this perfectly. This post by @stellabelle of pixEOS explain how to do this on a desktop with greymass.

Note – TP = TokenPocket, P = Private. The last part was trying to show how permission to change all key was restricted using Active Key only
You just spare two minutes to save yourself from potential future worries.
Having two powerful keys with different level of authority to your wallet gives you an extra layer of protection which you should put into practical use.
Therefore, it is advisable to up your game and keeps these two keys with different security approach.
Best Security Approach To The Two Keys.
Without making this post longer than it is.
The owner key is advised to be kept in a cold storage like a hardware wallet, paper wallet and other cold storage means.
The active key can simply be kept in a password protected text file on a desktop or mobile device for convenience and easy access. But it should be noted that sending and signing transactions can be conducted with the active key, which implies keeping the key protected as much as possible.

Just today i picked up @whatsup post about an AI that writes a text based on a snippet or sentence you write. It has a few templates so i decided to give it a shot. Some of the texts i got arent that great but i picked out the best one i found. Being a big Lord of the rings fan i used that template. Let me know what you think haha.

The text i entered:
The Kiss-Ass legion was mighty, their numbers formidable but they did not know i held a secret weapon to match their back-patting ways. A weapon blessed with the tears of liberals, forged in the halls of Minas Trump.
What came out:
I had a lot to gain when I took on this cult, and was a fool to not have been as aggressive as I could have been on the streets before. Not only do I have the power to make them hate me, if we succeed we can take the kiss-ass bastards away from my friends and families forever.
For some of the more obvious enemies the Kiss-Ass legion has been at my side willing to fight to the last with every last bit of courage and valour I could muster. In exchange for what was gained they would leave a few things behind them that could still be used against my enemies. We were given the sword of my enemies, the sword I could not kill, and also the knowledge of their true nature.
There was nothing to be lost in going toe-to-toe, it was only a matter time. Once I took out all the other bastards the Kiss-Ass Legion was no more.
Can you imagine the potential of this for shit posters!
