If BINANCE asks we react…

If there is one mandatory task that any good steemian should or must do regularly besides voting for witnesses is to promote STEEM every time the opportunity appears.

Our friends of BINANCE are asking which tokens we would like to see at their BINANCE Chain which, in case you don’t know yet, it is a custom blockchain that features a permissionless decentralized exchange (DEX). For your information, this new blockchain will become available to the public on April 23 and I am sure there will be some positive effects on the tokens listed there.

I have already replied them obviously “voting” for STEEM and I think would be good if you do the same.

So, please, go there and reply telling $STEEM or #STEEM or whatever the tag used but always with STEEM !

Auditing My Witness: Let’s do our duty [v12], Removing @utopian-io adding @steempress

Back at home after spending 3 days at the country. Now I am checking my witness votes. In order to do that I am using http://duplibot.com/ and I realized that @utopian-io has the signing key inactive since more than 8 days already. I went straight to their steem blog account and I saw this:

“Notice of witness suspension and additional changes“

It’s a pity because they are doing a great contribution for developers on the steem blockchain so, for me, it was a obligatory witness vote.

However, this is the good moment to add another exceptional contributor to the steem blockchain, so this time my permanent vote, if they keep doing greatly and signing steem blocks as usual, is for @steempress .

Honestly, I was waiting for getting a free slot for giving a vote to them. I think their work developing the wordpress plugin for the steem blockchain is extraordinary since it allows you to have better posting tools. Have a look here if you are interested about.

Steem on!

Injecting a little realism // Lets not make crypto into a fantasy world.

Im someone that considers himself a realist. And that is something that translates into crypto for me. The thing about being a realist in cryptocurrencies is that you many times are left on the sidelines of the discussions.
The crypto space is fueled by hype which leads to unrealistic expectations and extremely skewed views of the future.
Many people here are so subscribed to the extreme ideas brought on by the very strong libertarian community in crypto that they get completely lost in what is essentially a fantasy world of their own creation.
A colorful way to say it:

They are drinking the kool-aid.

This ofc happens in various degrees but it happens nonetheless.

Now you might think that im FUDing here or you can use some other way to describe my words but im really not. Im just trying to say, to the folks that might run across this post that i think that being realistic keeps you safe and should be a preferred path to take. I know that being realistic doesnt drive the price up, but on the other hand it does keep you safe when prices go down.

All the extremist ideas about the potential of decentralization, the ideas of beating the banks, of dissolving governments because of cryptocurrencies are for most part fairy tales that are extremely unlikely to happen.
The people that yell:

REVOLUTION!!!!

the loudest are the people you should be skeptical of the most.

Crypto will not cure cancer, take people to Mars, bring about world peace, eliminate all inequality in the world, stop racism….

Cryptocurrencies like STEEM or WLS are a tool for you to use to empower yourself and others. What they can do is offer you the opportunities you might not have had otherwise.
I hope every one of you manages to make most of them..

My First Post On Scrips.io

As many times before, my friend @toofasteddie introduced me through his post, to something new, interesting and noteworthy.

This time it is a blogging site, built ton WordPress, using SteemPress plugin and connecting when desired directly to Steem.

It is called scrips.io and here I am, posting away my first post on it.

I’ve already updated my profile to be able to post since you need more than 50% completion of the profile to post. It’s really easy to achieve that. Enter your data and you are set to go.

I’ve also connected the profile with my Steem username and used the posting key to achieve that.

Remember – scrips.io account is not the same thing as Steem account. They are different entities.

Some more polishing, a quick one indeed, and my header is set.

In theory, after I click on the Publish… button, this article should appear on scrips.io and, at the same time, on Steem.

Let’s check it out, shall we?

Ps: it is really easy to write here since I am familiar with WordPress for I-don’t-know-how-many-years 🙂

Better and better

I had a dream!

I had a dream that STEEM went to the moon.

A dream that it went from 0.4$ to 44$ in 44 seconds!

That our pockets were so full that it rained on the poor.

That Ned could play all day and no one would mind it or care.

It was a beautiful dream, that was.

But it was only a dream and it only ever will be

….. unless the community comes together!

Hahaha. Im BSing you of course..
This is how you moon STEEM:

  1. You get someone that the community likes to create a sales pitch or at least spread it. You make the pitch easy to understand and easy to spread. (Something like the Steemit fact i shared yesterday)
  2. You sprinkle some drama on it (You point out how other blockchains dont compete and their hypemen are lying)
  3. You get a couple whales to do a call to action and vote those who provide proof of shill and spread those FACTS on twitter, reddit, whatever.
  4. You win…

Busy Weekend on my Airbnb Business

We are starting the Easter weekend called “Semana Santa” in Mexico and both of my Airbnb units are full of people. It’s wonderful to meet new people, yes, it can be very stressing and the work accumulates. Only this past week we have hosted seven groups and it can turn very demanding if you host one group after another.

At the moment Gris and I are in charge of the cleaning, my mom also helps if she has time and my dad is in charge of cleaning the pool. We are doing very good and winning extra money definitely is worth the extra effort. In the near future we would like to hire a person that can help us with the cleaning, that would be great we would only be in charge of the administration.

Today we welcomed to groups that will stay until Sunday. Next week we have three groups confirmed and that will make April a wonderful month. We are winning more money that the one we would win if we were renting the house on the traditional way, almost the double.

We are enjoying this Airbnb adventure, it’s not something that I would like to do all my life and Steem is my main project but at the moment this activity is paying us more and it’s a great way to save money to invest it on Steem Power.

Looked at some Web traffic for Steemit/Dtube/Dlive/Whaleshares

After the Dlive drama i wanted to take a look at some webtraffic of a few websites i use. Wanted to see if there was a major change these last few weeks and months. There are a few things i found.

  1. After a disastrous 2018 Dtube finally hit the bottom and is slowly recovering while Steemit.com is still on a decline in Alexa rank, but seems to be recovering in daily total visits.
  2. Dlive continued their meteoric rise but still has not caught up to Steemit.com
  3. Dtube is still highly dependent on Steemit.com. With more then 70% of the traffic coming from Steemit.
  4. Whaleshares numbers, after a rapid rise are starting to drop off.

STEEMIT (@steemitblog, steemit.com):

Taken from “Similar Web”. Shows slight increase in total visits from February to March of aprox. 2 million total visits.

Alexa rank. Global rank decline over the last 3 months.

WHALESHARES (Whaleshares.io):

Taken from Similar Web. Shows a sharp drop in total visitors from February to March. From 300k to 170k stopping the momentum Whaleshares had over the last few months.

Alexa rank shows a similar trend.

DTUBE (@dtube, d.tube) :

Taken from Similar Web. Shows a sharp increase in total visitors from February to March. From 870k to 1.7m. (More then double)

Another jump around the same time in the Alexa ranking but not as significant.

DLIVE: (@dlive, dlive.tv)

Taken from Similar Web. Shows a sharp increase in total visitors from February to March. From 3 million to 4.6 million.

Alexa rank for Dlive shows amazing growth of over 20 thousand places in ranking. 3 months ago Dlive and Dtube were ranked about the same place.

And yes! finally, with the help of the excellent developers of the SCRIPSIO team seems that from now on I can post my thoughts using this site.

I am still setting up my account but it seems quite easy and straightforward for the moment.

Really surprised for what it seems to be a good user friendly environment for bloggers willing to use a more advanced features for writing, editing, posting and spreading your blog not only at the Steem blockchain but also at other platforms as twitter.

Well done @scripsio !
