Plagiarism! … or not?

Almost five years ago I participated together with my wife and my daughter on a competition called “The Family Run”. It consisted on a race among families on which, at that time, we finished the 2nds…

The thing is that now, they are organizing another one and they prepared all the advertisements and stuff in order to promote the event… the funny thing is that my wife found in one of the posters of the race someone familiar….

Yes! the guy of the right who is holding the hand of a child is MYSELF! I am famous!!!!

But, wait, this boy is not my daughter… and neither the lady is my wife!!!! WTF!!!

By one side is always good to see yourself in these kind of things… it is not the first time it happened to me, 3 years ago the organizers of Spanish Marathon Championship use my pic (FYI, which is the one of my profile…) in order to put it on the cover of their magazine… Frankly, I did not complaint at all…

But now, it is different, they modified my picture not only adding some effects but also removing my wife and daughter from the original…

I don’t remember if I signed anything regarding images rights there but… I think they should told me before, shouldn’t them?

Another great upgrade on Steemworld

Have you seen the last upgrade of Steemworld ?

Go there and check your curation rewards, you will see how efficient you are as a curator.

I find it tremendously useful, not for me in particular because I am trying to upvote content without expecting to get the maximum of curation rewards but I understand that this tool and the one developed by @holger80 ( Beempy ) are really good tools for passive investors willing to maximize their investment while upvoting.

Curation trails and their followers can get the most if the manager of the trail try to check those numbers as well.

This guy , @steemchiller is really a perfectionist! He seems to have plenty of plans for @steemworld which are really coming week after week and the best of all is that I have never had a problem or bug by using his app.

My congratulations to @steemchiller for this new upgrade.

They just messed up Game Of Thrones!!!

Image result for game of thrones

SPOILER ALERT!

Im a huge fan of Game of thrones. Ever since i watched season one on a 10 by 10 cm screen on Virgin airlines LAX 8 years ago.

Still, i have to say that they “fucked it up”…

I knew it would happen. The books storyline is catching up to the series and there was no clear pointer for the writers to make this impeccable. G.R.R Martin would think through a battle like this for months. And the Hollywood writers will basically do anything for a $ because they are under-payed and unappreciated.

G.R.R Martin gave them pointers and they perversed everything.

All the main characters had plot armor and in a stupid way. There was no explanation to it. Even fat Sam was a better warrior then the damn unsullied. In what world does that make sense.

The direction was good, the set pieces were great, everything was too dark (but whatever), the battle was epic….

BUT THE STORY SUCKED REALLY BAD!!

Extremely poorly thought out.

Its hard to even put everything on paper. The battle formations. The invincibility of some characters. The Night King resolution.

Where the hell does Arya come from?! She jumped on him from behind? Arent there a million wights behind him? And theres a 1 second death moment for someone being set up for 8 years?
Take the death of Gollum and the destruction of the ring… You could see all the emotions on Gollums face, the RING defiance to be destroyed when it is swimming in the lava. None of which was present here. The Night King is the new SNOKE!

And all we get to see from the Night King is that he falls apart into a million icicle pieces.

Such a brilliantly looking episode (At least the things i could actually see) but so poorly concluded.

Cant wait to read how G.R.R Martin concludes it.

Because this sucked.

Sir L. Butterfly out..

😀

Liberland Initiates Decentralized Autonomous Government with EOSIO

The Free Republic of Liberland, a sovereign nation founded on 13th April 2015, seeks to build an open source government that will maximize the freedom of its citizens.

To that end, the country is building a Decentralized Autonomous Government (DAG). This concept is an attempt to combine the best elements of a republic, democracy, meritocracy and decentralized autonomous organizations.

Why EOS.IO?

To implement DAG, an operating system had to be selected. After heavy research on various blockchain platforms, it was decided for a new and personalized chain to be built based on EOS.IO software. Liberland president Vít Jedlička explains the decision:

“We have chosen EOS.IO because it’s a top-rated technology and it provides a lot of the features necessary to run country management on a blockchain. For example, it will allow us to have our national assembly, judiciary and even company registrations in one integrated system that can evolve over time.”

Other factors that contributed to the decision to use EOS.IO were:

·         EOS is the first governed blockchain to go live. The main network was launched in June 2018, and the community has been proving its capability by expanding in many different use cases.

·         The statistics of the EOS mainnet showed high performance, scalability and growing adoption.

·         EOS has excelled in many global rankings, such as FCAS Score on CoinMarketCap, China’s CCID Blockchain rankings and also Weiss Crypto Ratings.

A New Partnership

To advise us on the use of blockchain technology and build the necessary tools to implement Liberland’s DAG, we are pleased to announce a collaboration with the independent tech collective, Ghostbusters.

Ghostbusters shares Liberland’s core values and are motivated towards the same higher purpose. They are also well-known in the EOS community for maintaining technical soundness of the EOS mainnet as well as sister-chains and participating in significant projects for EOS adoption.

Vahid Toosi, Presidential Advisor, and member of Ghostbusters, states the importance of blockchain for Liberland:

“Cryptocurrencies or blockchains or distributed ledgers, whatever you choose to call them, are not necessarily here to take us to the moon in terms of financial gains, they are here to actually change the fundamentals on how the Internet is built.

[…] Liberland is building its whole fundamentals on blockchain, the backbone of the country. And that’s where the Ghostbusters come in. Functions and tools such as voting, government expenditures, passport and company registry will be run on the blockchain, of course without risking the privacy of the citizens. For Liberland, blockchain is not just a ‘nice-to-have’, it’s a ‘must-have’. It avoids seeing history repeat itself when it comes to corruption or unfair treatment but also efficiency gains that comes with fully digitalized systems. Our work here could provide insight on how other countries can apply blockchain in the future and benefit from our system.

“Launching Liberland’s DAG is a challenge, and we might encounter various issues along the way. However, with talented partners who share the same vision, we can establish solid foundations of decentralized governance,” states President Vít Jedlička.

The Free Republic of Liberland welcomes all members of the EOS community and other blockchain projects to participate in building a true decentralized and free country.

Hopefully, our experiment will have a positive impact on various societies with different cultural backgrounds. Thank you for supporting us – we appreciate your trust, participation, and feedback!

More elaborate press release to follow regarding timeline and the objectives with the DAG.

My experience with Bitfinex Telegram // In the wake of the Tether news.

The Greatest Bitcoin Memes of 2017

When i was on my crusade to get information as to why STEEM was an unknown token and had so few trading pairs, one of the exchanges i went to first is Bitfinex. First thing i did was pick up their Telegram account and asked a few question.
It was quite active and there were a number of official mods working there.

So i went on asking:

Why you no list STEEM?! Its a da best!

The response i got was the usual “We will consider all projects that benefit our community”. Or some other generic crap like that.

My messages blow up. 5 DMs, all from Bitfinex “alleged moderators” asking me in broken english:

Hey friend, want to get your STEEM listed? I can do this for u.

I was like: HELL, YEAH!!!! Im going to be a star on STEEMIT if i get STEEM listed on Bitfinex!

No, haha.

What actually was funny is that a few of the mods that contacted me were legit mods that were just trying to grab some cash fast so i decided to play with them a little. Told them to get a legit representative of the Bitfinex team to contact me on my email and i would consider paying. haha. This is an email of a legit moderator that i received.

I mean, who in their right mind would fall for this. haha. He still wrote an email though. He took the time.

Another Moderator wasnt as open about it since he was on of the main mods in charge. But he hinted at it:

You could pay me and ill make it happen or i can give you the contact of the person in the support team.

hehe.

Out of the clear scammers there were a few funny ones. There was even one female avatar that was attempting to flirt with me in broken english.

You very handsome sir. Do you like my photos? I get you listing only for 5 Bitcoin.

In the end i managed to get in contact with the customer support and the answer was basically the one you always get: “We will consider every token at an undisclosed time in the future.”
The take away being that even though they claim not to take payment for listings and there is some kind of system in place that somehow gets the community to vote on the tokens to list, it seems that you could very well pay for someone to push a token forward.

Just a short story to add to the Tether shadiness. 😀
