First i have to say that i am a fan of Drug Wars. What can i say, i like mafia style games and i like the fact i can steal peoples stuff and get some money doing it. :D.
Would i play Drug Wars if i werent earning a couple Steem a week? Probably not. lol. And i think thats the mindset of many folks here. (Why thats important, i talk about later)
But lets be realistic for a moment. This is a browser game that is basically 15 years old, tech wise. Its outdated in almost every way. Even the game idea itself is dated. The only thing thats not outdated is the fact that STEEM is associated with it and its “kind of” a use case example for cryptocurrencies.
This isnt something that i think will stick around by the time we hit mass adoption if it remains in this form. It just doesnt have mainstream appeal and theres really nothing original about it. It doesnt feel different, its doesnt look different, it doesnt play different then old school Mafia games. The game needs to be unique in some way and i dont think the devs achieved that yet outside associating the game with STEEM. (Not saying that they cant over time)
But lets think short term for a second.
Ever since the launch, the initial hype and the followed disappointment and frustration, Drug Wars has had numerous problems. Loading issues, gameplay problems… etc.
But the biggest problem that i think might lead to the downfall of the game is its Ponzi economics.
Ive been talking about this from day one, tried speaking to folks that are better known then me here. Tried replying to the “hype monsters” explaining the economics, etc. No one listened. Not a single person i ran into could be convinced that the games economy is a basic ponzi scheme and that it shouldnt be regarded as an “investment” but only as a game.
The response i would get was:
But look at my ROI dude!

It took a whole month after the launch until @themarkymark wrote a post about the games economics for people to start using their heads. By that time it was too late and folks started going into tantrums because they overspent.
Although the game devs did say something in line of: “We take 20%, players get 80% back” (not sure the exact numbers).
.…which should make it absolutely clear to anyone with elementary school education that this is a poor investment…..
you could still say that the devs werent honest with their advertising and didnt “really” try to explain the economics of the game to the players.
Well i can think of only a few ways for the devs to fix the game. The issue is that im unsure in the dev capabilities due to them proving themselves inept at anticipating the reactions of the players and “misguided investors”; inept at anticipating the “end game” of a “Ponzi economy” they chose while having no other revenue streams.
Anyways..
Heres what i think they can do.
Let me know what you think. Can the game be salvaged or are we looking at a forever reducing reward pool and players slowly leaving once they see the money just isnt there yet? I think it has been reducing by around $100 these last few days.
Ill see you around.

Most guides say you need dye based inks, RIP software, custom black inks, epson printer or double printing.
The pro-1000 breaks all these rules and prints screen print positives very easily.
This is due to the Lucia pro inks containing UV blockers. This means you don’t need to print a truly opaque black layer, just a layer that can block out UV.
Therefore you don’t need RIP software to lay down maximum ink, you don’t need to risk damaging your printer by adding 3rd party custom inks, you don’t need dye based inks, epson printer or double printing.
I’ve even found that you can print a koda trace with red or yellow ink, which when held up to the light are not opaque and look like they would not block enough light to make a
successful screen, but because the ink has UV blockers it works!
To print a Koda trace (screen print positive) on the Canon pro-1000 you will need some inkjet positive film. I use Posiprint screen film 130mic from colourbyte in the UK.
http://www.colourbyte.co.uk/content/blogcategory/110/1672/#IJ305
If you are in a different country, look for a film that is specifically made for screen print positives. I wouldn’t recommend just going for a cheap acetate.
Once you have your design. open it in your DTP program or printing software. I use Photoshop.
In Photoshop you open the print studio pro plugin.
Then set your media type to :
Photo Paper Plus Glossy II .
Set your colour mode to :
Black and white photo
Print quality to :
High or highest

I’ve found that the screen film prints better using the manual feed tray and not the rear tray. I’ve nearly had a sheet get stuck in the rear tray.

Exposing the screen to UV light with the positive placed under the screen.

Wash the screen then leave to dry.

tape your paper down, place the screen on top then squeegee your ink through.

Finished screen print.

Planet Fitness Inc is a franchisor and operator of fitness centers in the United States. It has approximately nine million members and more than 1,200 stores in 47 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Canada and the Dominican Republic.
I remember when Planet Fitness debuted on the Markets in 2015. I said to myself, here we go, another fitness play trying to cash in. Little did I know, they weren’t trying to cash in, but use the cash from the Markets to expand.

For those that dont know, Scirpsio is a blogging site that is connected to STEEM through Steempress. I use it for most my posts since it has a much superior text editor then Steemit.
Now that you know what im talking about i want to tell you that SOMEONE IS TRYING TO HACK MEEEEE!!!!! Oooooh lawd have mercy!
I received a message from Scripsio in my mail about the login attempts so i naturally wanted to see who was trying to brute force their way into my account…
Hello lordbutterfly,
24 failed login attempts and 4 lockout(s) from IP 185.211.245.169
Last Login Attempt : 18/03/2019 19:25:14
Last User Attempt : lordbutterfly
IP has been blocked until : 18/03/2019 19:40:14
Checked the IP address and it seems its some guy from Moscow, Russia. I dont know why hes targeting me, Putin is my main man.
The ISP is registered to a a guy called Chernyshov Aleksandr Aleksandrovich.

But theres something very unfortunate for hacker boy. My passwords are pretty darn safe. I have a many characters long password that is probably pretty difficult to brute force.
And even if he did get in, all he could basically do is post stuff to my blog or Steemit, maybe find out my email which again has a different password. Not much else.
Still, doesnt feel great seeing someone trying to get into your account.
So please, everyone, give me big votes to make me feel better. 🙁
Hehe. Ill see you around and keep safe!

I have been looking at the crypto market these last few days which led me to the Weiss cryptocurrency report. Anyone that reads my blog knows that im not a fan of a fair number of cryptos. Most of them arent really STEEM competitors but i have a dislike for them due to numerous reasons.
As you can suspect STEEM is listed really high in most of the crypto rankings. (B- on Weiss).
While i agree that STEEM should be high on the list i dont agree with some of the other ratings, but thats not here nor there.
As time goes by, im starting to notice more and more the importance of measuring actual crypto performance in the world.
If you just glance at the Coinmarketcap page and the top tokens in market cap, and check them out, you will realize that most of them have really poor adoption. There are even those used by barely a hundred or so people daily. Dont even need to talk about those with no working product whatsoever.
What about the hundreds of “transaction tokens” or “Privacy coins”? Do we really need Dash, LTC, BCH, BCSV, MONERO, DOGECOIN, DOGECOIN DARK (called VERGE now), BITCOIN GOLD, ZCASH…
I personally dont give a crap if my transactions are private.
I care more about keeping my browser history private then my transactions and account balance.
Vitalik Buterin – 2017.
Some might care, which is fine, but do we need a 100 of these tokens that do essentially the exact same thing? I mean we arent talking here Dapp building platforms where individual blockchain characteristics are hugely important.
I dont care if i can send a private transaction with DASH 13.3 seconds faster then with, i dunno, MONERO. Makes 0 difference to me….
Which begs the question as to why arent we seeing most of these coins falling away into obscurity?
I say Drugs. No other explanation. haha. 😀
Ill see you around.
