10,000 Ft View – Daily Chart

Lets zoom for a closer look at the trade set-up on the 30 min chart. What I like about the set-up is price formed a demand zone where the buyers took out the pivot high. What I also like about the zone is price has the opportunity to at least close the gap.

Here is a closer look at the zone.

10,000 Ft View – Weekly Chart

Lets zoom for a closer look at the trade set-up on the 4 hr chart. What I like about the set-up is price formed a level on level (supply on top of supply) and there were enough sellers to push price below the most recent pivot low.

Currency Analysis Report 5-8-19…More Downside Risk On Kiwi Too

In March Governor Adrian Orr hinted at a easing bias. In an interview with Bloomberg last month, Orr confirmed that a rate cut in May was possible, but he also said it was a difficult decision and there were some reasons not to act, such as a shortage of skilled labor and record export prices.

Because of the trade war the last 18 months, New Zealand’s economy has cooled, with annual growth slowing to 2.3 percent last year from 3.4 percent in 2017. Like the Aussie Dollar, as China goes, the Kiwi goes.

Currency Analysis Report 5-7-19…More Downside Risk On Aussie

The Aussie declined yesterday as news hit that a delegation from China may cancel its plans to continue trade talks with the United States later this week because of a recent tweet by President Trump calling for increased tariffs.

The Aussie dollar felt the pain because as China goes, so does Australia. In addition, the RBA left interest rates, unchanged at 1.5%. What they said was leaving rates on hold was based on still spare capacity in the economy and that a further improvement in the labour market was likely to be needed for inflation to be consistent with the

Forex $1 MM Challenge…The Fat Tail Theory

After one takes enough trades, the results will follow a normal distribution where the probability of those returns will move between the mean and three standard deviations, either positive or negative, is approximately 99.7%. This means that the probability of returns moving more than three standard deviations beyond the mean is 0.3%.  The fat tail theory states a very small percent of your trades will move beyond three standard deviations.

A simpler version of the fat tail theory is Pareto’s Rule. The Pareto principle (also known as the 80/20 rule, the law of the vital few) as it relates to trading

Currency Analysis Report 5/4/19 – Does The US Dollar Have More Upside???

This morning brought the release of April Non-Farm Payroll numbers out of the US, and while the headline number was fairly strong, the internals were questionable. The US economy added +263k jobs in the month of April, blowing by the expectation for +190k to have been added. Also in the positive column was the unemployment rate, which sunk to a fresh 50-year low, printing at 3.6% versus the expectation of 3.8%. But – the question marks around inflation in the US economy remain as Average Hourly Earnings missed expectations, coming in at an annualized 3.2% versus the expectation for 3.3%;

Currency Analysis Report 5-3-19…Is Brexit Back On???

Pound Sterling is the week’s best performing currency with a poor performance by Labour and the Conservatives in local elections likely to spur the two sides towards agreeing a Brexit deal as they seek to lance the boil that is Brexit.

Out of no where, the
British Pound rocketed llate on Friday afternoon following comments from Labour
leader Jeremy Corbyn that a deal on leaving the EU must be decided by the UK
parliament soon.  Jeremy went on to say lawmakers
had to find a way to get a deal done to leave the EU.

If local parities, the Labour
and the Conservatives could agree on a
