Under Armour (NYSE: UAA) used to be the IT company on Wall Street with years of sales growth great than 20%, but things went left in 2017 when sales started slowing down. The shot themselves in the foot by growing to fast when their apparel started showing up in many retailers, including Kohl’s. What was once an exclusive product became a commodity. The end result was company struggled to manage inventory and saw margins decline when it had to sell surplus product at heavy discounts.

Bitcoin Analysis: Trading Above Major Support & Below Major Resistance

Bitcoin is currently bouncing on top of what was resistance at $5,600, which is now a very relevant support. It’s also huddled just below major resistance at $5,800. A decisive break above or below either would be significant…at least in the short term. Price is trading within an ascending broadening wedge. Statistically, this breaks down about 52-55% of the time. Regardless, bulls have a good shot at testing $6,000. Daily volume remains relatively healthy at around $15 billion.

Price is still trading above the 21 and 8 day EMA. This is a sign of strength…at least in the short term.

Shake Shack…Shakes On

While Beyond Burger made noise going public this week, Shake Shack made some noise of their own.

Shake Shack announced their quarterly earnings this past week.  Despite operating expenses increasing 1% of revenue year over year, the Markets reactive positively to the numbers.

Shake Shack posted net income of $3.6 million, or 9 cents a share, compared with $3.5 million, or 13 cents a share, in the comparable year-earlier period. Revenue jumped to $132.6 million from $99.1 million, while same-store sales gained 3.6%.    In addition, Shake Shack raised their full-year revenue guidance by $6 million and increased its expected same-store sales growth

Wayfair Continues To Acquire Customers

Wayfair provides a variety of websites that offer an extensive selection of home furnishings and decor across all styles and price points. In addition to Wayfair.com, other websites it runs include Birch Lane and Joss & Main.

Wayfair reported first quarter earnings last week that beat revenue, but not earnings Wall Street expectations. Wayfair reported an earnings loss of $1.62 / share on revenue of $1.94 billion, a rise of 39% from the year-ago quarter.

Forex $1 MM Challenge…The Fat Tail Theory

After one takes enough trades, the results will follow a normal distribution where the probability of those returns will move between the mean and three standard deviations, either positive or negative, is approximately 99.7%. This means that the probability of returns moving more than three standard deviations beyond the mean is 0.3%.  The fat tail theory states a very small percent of your trades will move beyond three standard deviations.

Cree, Inc. Changes Up Their Strategy

Cree, Inc. provides lighting-class light emitting diode (LED), lighting, and semiconductor products for power and radio-frequency (RF) applications in the United States, China, Europe, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, and internationally. It operates in three segments: Wolfspeed, LED Products, and Lighting Products.

Cree was the it company years ago because when LED were just coming onto the scene, they were the leaders in the field.  However, Cree couldn’t hold the lead and it became evident when they announced their quarterly earnings this past week.
