Cree, Inc. provides lighting-class light emitting diode (LED), lighting, and semiconductor products for power and radio-frequency (RF) applications in the United States, China, Europe, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, and internationally. It operates in three segments: Wolfspeed, LED Products, and Lighting Products.

Cree was the it company years ago because when LED were just coming onto the scene, they were the leaders in the field.  However, Cree couldn’t hold the lead and it became evident when they announced their quarterly earnings this past week.

Universal Display Corporation engages in the research, development, and commercialization of organic light emitting diode (OLED) technologies and materials for use in flat panel displays and solid-state lighting applications.

OLED uses an organic substance that glows when an electric current is introduced. The material reduces the thickness and weight of the devices, creating an ultra-thin, sleek form and superior color reproduction.

On Monday OLED was downgraded by Susquehanna Financial Group’s analyst Mehdi Hosseini. Hosseini argued that “the best case (cash) earnings scenario (of high single digit $/share) is now dialed into the share price” following the big run-up.”

Advanced Micro Devices reported their quarterly earnings Tues. afternoon.  Their earnings and revenue beat estimates.  They also said their revenue for the second quarter will be in-line with expectations and maintained their full-year earnings guidance thanks you the expected launch of their new 7-nanometer Ryzen, Radeon and EPYC processors in the coming months.

So the news seemed positive, no need to be cautious right, so why are analyst all over the place with their targets?  Is it because Intel reported their first annual profit decline since 2015 and said their full-year guidance that was below Wall Street expectations last week.

Apple is valued at $1 trillion once again after the company’s better-than-expected earnings report that exceeeded Wall Street’s expectations on both the top and bottom lines on Tuesday.

It was only four months ago, Apple suffered its biggest single-day loss in 6 years after cutting revenue guidance.  It seems like the beginning of the end for Apple in late 2018 when Apple announced its fourth quarter earnings report, in which Apple announced it would stop reporting individual unit sales and revenue figures for the iPhone.
