Netflix Announced Earnings…It’s All About The Subs

Netflix reported quarterly earnings today.  Net income rose to $344.1 million, or 76 cents per share, in the first quarter, from $290.1 million, or 64 cents per share, a year earlier.  Total revenue rose to $4.52 billion from $3.70 billion. Analysts on average had expected revenue of $4.50 billion.

But those aren’t the important numbers because Wall Street views Netflix as a growth story, so it’s all about the subscriptions.  In the reported quarter, Netflix added 7.86 million paid subscribers internationally vs. analyst estimate of 7.14 million, according to IBES data from Definitive and 1.74 million paid subscribers in the

Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) Is At All-Time Highs

The ETF, SPY represents the bellweather, the S&P 500 Index, which is a diversified large cap U.S. index that holds companies across all eleven sectors.  One sector represented with a significant weighting is information technology.

The Index seeks to provide an effective representation of the technology and telecom sector of the S&P 500 Index with exposure to technology hardware, storage, communications equipment, semiconductors, etc.

So when I heard the XLK was at all-time highs,

and the NASDAQ wasn’t,

I was intrigued.  However, it all made sense after looking at the top 10 holdings of the XLK.

Are You Ready For 5G???

The Trump administration and government regulators unveiled a major push Friday afternoon at the White House to accelerate the rollout of the high-speed, next-generation mobile data technology known as 5G.

5G ((short for 5th Generation) is the next generation of mobile communication. 5G brings three new aspects to the table: greater speed (to move more data), lower latency (to be more responsive), and the ability to connect a lot more devices at once (for sensors and smart devices). 5G will be a whole new kind of network, enabling new experiences that will change how we live, work, and play.

Can I Get A $LYFT ?

Talk about a complete shitshow of an IPO. LYFT went public a little over 2 weeks ago. After pricing at $72 by the crooked bankers, LYFT opens the market at a price above 85. Thank the big bankers for that. You can see what has transpired over the next ten trading days from this pump above the price.

A plummet. That’s right, straight down. LYFT is puking and is already down 24% from its IPO price and 35% from its opening price. That means if you got fed the bullshit by the big banks and bought the day LYFT went

$TWTR is on the Move, Holding $34

Twitter is on the move this morning holding the $34 and moving into the resistance level of $35-35.50 for it seems like the 1000th time. A small pullback was needed to relieve some pressure but I am looking for the Tweeter bird to break through this level this week.

A strong open is some mega progress and I believe if the market holds in today we may get a good upswing t continue the now bullish trend. The pattern is there, we just need this baby to resolve higher. The longer it stays at the top end of this range,

Will The Good Times Keep Rolling For JPMorgan Chase???

If the S&P 500 is the
bellweather for the equity markets, JPMorgan Chase (JPM) is the bellweather for
the bank sector. JPMorgan Chase reported earnings on Friday and blew the results
out of the box. JPM earned $2.65 a share for the quarter versus expectations of
$2.35 a share. And revenue of $29.9 billion came in $1.5 billion ahead of
expectations.

The results were
supported by record revenue and net income. Investors have been concerned that
net interest margins would deteriorate since the US Feds said they would leave
interest rates along, but net interest income grew by 8% year over year.

Consumer and business
banking revenue climbed 15%

The V Shape Rally is Real

I will be the first one to be honest about kissing the beginning parts of this rally back to all time highs (pending). I nailed the breakdown in Q4 2018. I nailed the low on Christmas Eve. I did not hit the Rip back to highs. Once the 200 day was taken back without a single down week, the Bears has fumbled and the bulls were in full control.

New highs are practically inevitable at this point. This V was a massive velocity move that was faster than the down move. I am expecting new highs this week in fact.

Short Sellers Are Out To Get Lyft – Part 2

I last wrote about Lyft one week ago,

Short Sellers Are Out To Get Lyft

Wednesday was the first settlement day for Lyft shares and hedge funds were salivating at the opportunity to short the stock. Short sellers shorted over 6 million shares which represented about 20% of the available shares outstanding.

At the time, price was at $72.

NOTE: that line at $42 is there because Michael Ward of Seaport Global Securities thinks Lyft’s current valuation bakes in “overly optimistic” assumptions about the transformational nature of ride hailing and thinks price is headed to $42.

Price now stands at $59.

Motley Fool Got 1 Out Of 3 Right

A recent Motley Fool article title,

3 Stocks You’ll Be Glad You Bought in 30 Years

had the following to say about Square, Five Below and Wayfair:

There are plenty of stocks that have turned a meager sum into six figures or more over the last 30 years. It can seem a daunting task to figure out what the next wealth-building stock is going to be, but I have found that the signs of tomorrow’s great companies are always in plain sight.Multibagger stocks usually show two essential traits: fast revenue growth and an enormous addressable market to grow into. Three stocks that are

Wanna See What A Measured Move Looks Like? $DIS to 180+

Disney is rocketing forward this morning on news about a new streaming service that will be offered. Disney was always in a great position owning ESPN if they would ever put their politics aside and move forward with advancing their company! Well it looks like we may have found this answer. I have had this measured move mapped out for multiple weeks now, if not months (disclaimer: I have not touched these lines). Take a look…

DIS has traveled out of the financial crisis and pullback in 2011 from 20…to 100-110ish. With this FOUR AND A HALF YEAR BASE of consolidation
