Sellers Are At It Again, But This Time It’s The Insiders

In 2018, shares of Tilray, went from $17 per share in July to just over $300 in August, an increase of more than 600%.  With a market cap at that reached over $10 billion, but with only sales of $28 million short sellers saw an opportunity.

Short interest on the stock spiked to about 3.5 million shares, approximately a third of the company’s overall float.  Many short sellers got burned on the way up, but the lucky few made a killing on the way down.

Because Tilray isn’t producing much cannabis now and its peak annual output is nothing to write home

Is Dr. Copper About To Breakout??? – Part 3

Yesterday China officials reported that their economy grew slightly faster than expected in the three months to March.  The economy expanded at 6.4% in the first quarter from a year earlier vs. the forecast of 6.3%.  In additional, factory output jumped 8.5% in March.

China is taking a “by any means necessary” approach to boost its slowing economy, but don’t call this a comeback yet. I mean it was only one quarter, for that matter the whole world has been on fire to start the year.  Nevertheless, the news was enough to send the copper prices to a 10 month high

Are You Ready For 5G??? – Part 2

Yesterday, the U.S. Justice Department has told T-Mobile US Inc and Sprint Corp that it opposes their planned $26 billion merger in its current form.  A biggest issue being that if approved it would reduce the number of national wireless carriers available to consumers from four to three.  The thought is if there is less competition, consumers are susceptible to higher prices, in this case higher cell phone bills.

However, T-Mobile position is the combined company would build be better and faster at building 5G in order to compete with AT&T and Verizon.  In additional, T-Mobile and Sprint have the support

UnitedHealth Care Is On The Dog List

One of the major themes going into the 2020 presidential, at least by the Democrats will be the “Medicare for All” proposals. For example, Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont is calling for government-run health care as a way of covering more people.  He’s even signaling out companies like UnitedHealth.

And last week, Sanders specifically called out UnitedHealth, saying in an April 12 tweet “your greed is going to end.”

UnitedHealth is one of the largest health-insurance providers services roughly 50 million people with revenue of $226.2 billion last year. It also operates physician practices, sells consulting and data services, and administers drug

And there you have it folks… $QQQ All Time Highs

I said it was likely happening this week, and we are Wednesday. The Nasdaq has now hit an intraday all time high. Expect a chop from now until the end of summer. The IWM is not participating as much but I feel the SPX and NDX are up enough that the big boy bids put in for vacation will hold the market up for the next few months.

Once the 200 day MA was taken back my view shifted in real time and this was confirmed with the pullback and hold within days after the overtaking of the 200 MA.

Marathon Oil Corp. Gets Upgraded

Marathon Oil Corporation operates as an energy company in the United States, Equatorial Guinea, the United Kingdom, and Libya. The company engages in the exploration, production, and marketing of crude oil and condensate, natural gas liquids, and natural gas.

Marathon Oil (NYSE: MRO) is among the leaders in the Eagle Ford Shale. The company pumped 107,000 BOE per day from the region during the fourth quarter of 2018. Marathon’s focus in recent years has been on improving its drilling efficiency. That was on full display last year as its oil output in the Eagle Ford rose 7% even though it bought

Netflix Announced Earnings…It’s All About The Subs

Netflix reported quarterly earnings today.  Net income rose to $344.1 million, or 76 cents per share, in the first quarter, from $290.1 million, or 64 cents per share, a year earlier.  Total revenue rose to $4.52 billion from $3.70 billion. Analysts on average had expected revenue of $4.50 billion.

But those aren’t the important numbers because Wall Street views Netflix as a growth story, so it’s all about the subscriptions.  In the reported quarter, Netflix added 7.86 million paid subscribers internationally vs. analyst estimate of 7.14 million, according to IBES data from Definitive and 1.74 million paid subscribers in the

Basic Attention Token Demands Your Attention!

BAT is leading again folks. You can not learn relative strength quickly enough in this game. What goes up first? What doesn’t pullback much when everything falls? What goes up the most? What doesn’t fall hardly at all? What doesn’t go down on bad news?

These are questions you have to be asking yourself. This is how I hit LTC, BAT, and EOS on the lead off the bottom. I am expecting BAT to be printing highs again in the next 48 hours. We are headed back towards the recent highs in crypto and BAT is already there.

This does

Are You Ready For 5G???

The Trump administration and government regulators unveiled a major push Friday afternoon at the White House to accelerate the rollout of the high-speed, next-generation mobile data technology known as 5G.

5G ((short for 5th Generation) is the next generation of mobile communication. 5G brings three new aspects to the table: greater speed (to move more data), lower latency (to be more responsive), and the ability to connect a lot more devices at once (for sensors and smart devices). 5G will be a whole new kind of network, enabling new experiences that will change how we live, work, and play.
