How did Bitcoin cross the Red Sea?

And is there a land of milk and honey on the other side?

BTC is back on the warpath, pushing to new 2019 ATHs over the last two days. Yes it’s retracing now, but anyone with half a brain cell knows that that is only temporary.

This is the major price target level for BTC at the moment:

We have now encountered the last meaningful resistance on our way back up to $6000+ levels. This resistance level is the same support level that offered us a small pause during the drop from $6000 to below $4000 in November 2018.

Both normal Fib levels and

You’re not ready for Decentralisation

You think you are, but you aren’t.

I’m a really clever guy, but even I’m probably not ready for it. Why not?

The problem is our oldest enemy: ourselves.

Being creatures of habit / sheep with a herd mentality – us humans struggle against our biases every time we try to go against the grain and think out of the box. As if it isn’t bad enough that we have to fight the collective opinion of 7 billion other people, we also have to fight ourselves.

You are biased. You’re probably very VERY  biased. Only a small and exclusive group of people even realise this, let

The RED List

The Red List is a list of threatened and endangered species. That’s not the list we’re talking about today. We’re talking about this one:

From https://www.tradingview.com

That’s the little tab which I click on first thing every morning when I open TradingView. The Red List is the list of highlighted stocks, cryptos, commodities etc which I consider most important to me and which I like to keep a close eye on.

Unlike most of my posts, this one does not come from my pre-planned and dynamic list of “topics I must blog about when I get a chance”. This post was conceived last

Buy Low, Sell High – or just Buy High

“Buy Low, Sell High” is the most simple and most fundamental rule of trading.

It’s amazing how much FOMO and FUD can affect that simple rule, too often people do the exact opposite: chasing the train after it’s left the station or panic selling a price drop near the bottom. But I’m not here to speak about trader psychology today, I’m here to speak to you about another not-quite-as-simple trading strategy: Buying High.

Obviously Buying High and Selling Low is a bad idea, that much anybody can tell you. But what about just Buying High and not selling? I believe that there are

The Crypto Community has Spoken!

Something very interesting has been happening in crypto for the last week or so. If you didn’t look carefully, you may have missed the broader implications.

By now it is well known that self-proclaimed-Satoshi Craig Wright went after Twitter personality @hodlonaut, placing a bounty on his head in an attempt to find his true identity and saying that he would sue anyone else who denies that he is Satoshi Nakamoto. Craig wants people to identify hodlonaut by his tattoos and offered a 70 BSV reward (about $5000 at the time). However, this rewards is becoming less and less attractive as time

Silver – breaking local support

This weekend I read through the latest World Silver Survey, published by The Silver Institute.  For those unfamiliar with these reports, they are published on an annual basis and are very well written. At about 100 pages in length, the document is definitely not a quick read, but you can pick and choose areas of interest, it isn’t necessary to read every table and sub-heading. You can find all the World Silver Surveys (from 1950 to date) at https://www.silverinstitute.org/all-world-silver-surveys/.

For some years it has been noted that Silver is undervalued compared to Gold and is probably the better long-term investment. Indeed it

Why so SERIOUS?

I wish I had a royalty-free, open-source image of Heath Ledger in his Joker makeup to insert here. Chances of finding something like that = zero. Sorry, you’ll just have to use your imagination:

The crypto space is a special case

Last week I said:

Crypto marches to the beat of its own drum. Normal analysts can’t/won’t/don’t understand this – in fact they normally flatly deny it. Can you blame them? After doing something for 10/20/30 years, it’s hard to imagine that something like crypto can be “different” or “special”

That isn’t the first time I’ve said something along  those lines. On many occasions

Index to Crypto with Bit Brain – Edition 2019/2

I’m still busy catching up my slightly behind schedule “Index” posts for 2019. I published my first one for the year on 27 March, and true to my “when I feel like it” publishing schedule, here is the second one of 2019.

For those of you new to my Index posts, this is how they work: I give the post titles hyperlinked to the original posts. Each post has a small description, perhaps with a little feedback of how a prediction went or what changed since I wrote that post. Each Index links to the previous Index and at the end

Bitcoin – 10 April

Since my BTC post of 6 April “BTC – movements and signals – 06 April“, I’ve fleshed out my theory of BTC price movement in the months to come. Since I seem to be sharing that information sporadically in the comments sections of various platforms, I’d rather combine it all into one coherent post and share it with everybody.

In “BTC – movements and signals – 06 April” I gave two main future scenarios, specifically:

Drop back to the low $4000s – 50% probability;Rise to just over $6000 – 40% probability.

I won’t say that I now consider those to be wrong, in fact the

My Top 10 Holds

This post is to show you which coins I hold the largest percentages of. It will give you an idea of how I have positioned the majority of my crypto funds for the anticipated bull run (which may still be a few months off). I’m writing it because in yesterday’s Shopping Cart post I askedif anyone would like me to share this information, and an overwhelming 100% of respondents answered that they would. My thanks to Luke Phoenix who is the 100% of respondents

Obviously this data is dynamic: I can’t control the rise and fall of one coin’s price against one another. This post is
