STEEM front-ends should allow users to post without a STEEM account.

This is a very straight forward idea and it is how you fix the big on-boarding problem STEEM has right now. It wouldnt completely fix it, but it would do a lot to alleviate the problem.

There are a few obvious things to point out first.

  1. People like to test out services/produts first before spending money on them.
  2. People will rather not pay for something if they dont have to.

This idea plays on those two things. When someone hears about STEEM and the fact that you can earn money here the curiosity gets them and they come to check it out.
Then that person tries to make an account for free, because not everyone will be willing to pay for something they havent tested out. And what do you know, it takes 2 damn weeks to get a free account by which time you forgot all about STEEM, your curiosity was peaked by something else and you dont care much anymore.

A potential user is lost.

Heres how you keep the person interested and wanting more to the point that he would wait for those 2 weeks or even buy an account from @steem.ninja :

You allow for guest accounts on STEEM front ends. @steemit, @steempeak, @busy, @dtube…. etc.
You let folks log in through their emails.
What this does is two things:

  1. It lets the interested guest user be engaged with the community.
  2. It lets him/her test out the platform for free.

This is good for STEEM for a bunch of reasons. It can increase adoption, it increases engagement, STEEMs internet footprint and it most definitely would affect the Alexa rating in a positive way.

The guest user this way would be able to engage with the community and test out the platform. See what its all about. It would allow for the community to “tempt” the guest user through directly interacting with him/her and even if the person decides not to buy an account right away, the time till the free account lands in their email wouldnt have to be filled up only with waiting.
And thats the big advantage here.

But lets take it further!

After setting up the above option the front ends could continue adding features to it. Example:

Create an escrow account that would hold all upvotes collected by guest users. Do they want their earned $$$?
They have to make an account! Tell me a better way of encouraging someone to make an account then dangling a bag of coins in front of their face.

You would add restrictions ofc. Stuff like: No posts, limited number of comments, post author can delete the comments at will, comments would be written to the blockchain… etc.

Let me know what you think…. Is this a good idea or a great idea? 😀

@ned, make it happen!

Just some random thoughts // Crypto life, Steem, Whaleshares, stuff…

Theres something i have feared a lot when i bought STEEM couple months ago at $0.9. (I bought 1500 STEEM in total)

I was afraid that i was late. I was afraid that i missed the the biggest ATH crypto will ever see. I was afraid that i was too late to accumulate any significant sum of crypto. I was afraid that i would never be able to make whale friends and get votes.

But over time those opinions started changing. I started to pick up on nuances, the good sides and the bad sides of crypto. I figured out that i didnt have to make whale friends. I figured out how STEEM worked (even though i decided not to prostitute myself), i figured out the scammy crap exchanges are pulling off, i figured out how you can get your shitcoin listed by pulling someone off and with all that i managed to place myself somewhere i feel comfortable. https://chairsinfo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Comfortable-Office-Chairs-Options.png

A place where i can grow slowly, accumulate, find opportunities to reinvest and i dont have to adjust my behavior to appease anyone. Something that most say is the privilege of large accounts. And sure, that is most definitely not the fastest way to grow, lol, but its my way.
My posts arent flooded with engagement nor am i pulling in hundreds of STEEM a week…. but ill say “Fuck” as much as i want and enjoy myself. haha

But for most part its working well. Im getting my few dollars a day. Sometimes ill do a task and get a big vote from Oracle-d, sometimes ill leave some feedback on a project, sometimes ill do some twitter crusading, sometimes ill get lucky with Steem Monster cards, ill get my biweekly payouts from the “dev company” im invested in, ill do some curation on STEEM or WHALESHARES. etc….. Theres bunch of stuff for me to do here, stuff i didnt realize until i stopped focusing on trying to be friends with people id probably never like in real life just to get ahead.
I realized that there was a false dichotomy present here.

Either kiss ass or be a selfish, self-centered asshole to earn anything here.

While those two things most definitely represent the “profit maximizing way”, they arent the only way.

Not until i stopped trying to “maximize my profits” in the way presented above did i start looking for more opportunities and finding them. Investing in stuff, starting to post on Whaleshares and getting to know folks there/here. (One of the best decisions i made so far)
Sure, there are some shits on Whaleshares as well, but like its the case with smaller communities, the shits get flushed down the toilet pretty fast. haha

And there you have it. Sometimes i like to chronicle my thoughts. Put them to blockchain so one day in 5 years or a decade when im flying down the airway in my maglev Lambo, i can look back and say:

What a smart kid i was back then.

https://assets.flatpyramid.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/11022043/lamborghini-aventador-flying-2017-3d-model-221329.jpg

Or ill end up living under a bridge and think what a moron i was. hahaha.

Ill see you around. 😉

Guys… Go grab 150 STEEM or 1200 WLS on Coinbase for free.

Just a short post this time…. As some of you may know Coinbase bought Earn.com…
They are using Earn.com to give out crypto and spread awareness about crypto currencies that bribed them for a listing…(haha. sry i had to) You can basically complete the tasks in 2 minutes if you are already familiar with the project by skipping the videos.
I think in total you can earn 70$ if youre a US citizen and about 20$ if youre not.

Its basically free cash..

Just follow this link and click the wait-list for each token. You should get a callback inside one day..

https://www.coinbase.com/earn/

Ill see ya…

Is it time yet to slap back?

Before i start this post i have to say that im fully aware that STEEM has its problems. Most of them stem from the fact that people are selfish, greedy and self-absorbed.
I for one do not subscribe to the vapid ramblings of people that say:

People are acting selfishly because the incentives are broken!

The incentives could indeed be broken, but the reason people are acting shitty is because they are shitty people. There is no capitalism god come from heaven that can justify selfish, vindictive, self-absorbed, greedy behavior.
And of course that kind of behavior hurts the distribution which leads to STEEM suffering, the community suffering and the price suffering.
That is all well and fine…..

But lets put that behind us for one second. Thats our crap to deal with. Our dirty laundry.

Just because STEEM isnt perfect doesnt mean that it isnt a great place to be. I know that, you know that, but people out there dont know any of it…
Because we focus our attention inwards. We focus on our own petty little shit. We dont reach out..
I mean sure.. We can have our fun. Laugh at the morons flagging and spamming each other, repeating the same discussions over and over again, we can share a drama token or two, talk about how we should all get along…
All of that is lovely and great…

But while that is happening Justin Sun is on Twitter talking trash about Vitalik, saying how he will build him a monument once TRON surpasses ETH and getting millions of followers doing so.
Spamming Twitter with bullshit stats containing TRON gambling game transaction spam and claiming “mass adoption”. You have privacy tokens at each others throats over which privacy token should be the next big thing (spoiler: none of them), You have BTC-BCH debates going on…. EOS hype plastered where ever you look….

And what are we doing? We are being mellow, shy, hugsy… We have been slapped around and disrespected so much that we forgot how to dish it out ourselves. When was the last time anyone wrote about STEEM in any publication?

Ill tell you… The time those hackers got banned from STEEMIT. Thats when you heard about this blockchain. When the opportunity came about to shit on STEEM. From the bastard Tone Vays to the spokeperson for Everpedia/EOS and crypto publications all shitting on STEEM, at this point im starting to feel like we are like the battered wife of blockchain that keeps quiet not to get hit again.

Nah, its time to nut the fuck up, or shut the fuck up.

Time to flip off the Dogecoin Darks, the Ethereum Classics, the Bitcoin Diamonds, the Lisks, the Bitcoin golds of the crypto sphere.

The only way to attract investors and users here during a bear market is by contrasting STEEM to what is out there!

CONTRAST!

By showing what we do better then all other projects..

Go flood Twitter FFS… Thats the least you can do. Reddit doesnt allow for that much of freedom.

Ill see you around..That was fun to write haha.

Dreaming

Jasper taking another nap..

Everything into Heist! // Drug Wars

Just wanted to point out a few things about the downward spiral Drug Wars is in.
We all know by now that the game will die completely if there arent drastic changes to its economy.
Finally that realization has hit many people. At this rate, it seems that aprox. every 2 days the reward pool reduces by $100. This will slow a bit but at this rate i give the game 3-4 weeks of life left in it..

That is due to the simple fact that in order for the reward pool to get filled up, you need players to spend STEEM, which is not happening due to the exponentially increasing upgrade price and the limited STEEM user base.

At one point it becomes a much better choice to roll another account then to spend on upgrades. Which most folks wont do since the reward pool is already drained..
The reward pool getting emptied could be slowed down if STEEM had a increasing number of users coming in to spend, which is not the case, not only with STEEM, but everywhere else as well.

If i were to simplify it even more: The guy that set up the economy on Drug Wars was an idiot.
He is not an idiot for making a mistake, anyone can do that. He/she is an idiot for not doing anything about it weeks ago when the problem was pointed out.
Making a mistake doesnt makes you an idiot. Being stubborn, rejecting advice, not doing anything about the problem when its pointed out to you does make you an idiot.

With this emptying of the reward pool happening, eventually Drug Wars reward pool will reach sub $50 daily reward pool and stabilize somewhere around there for some time.
But it will inevitably hit $0 or be shut down by the devs.
If they figure out the economy, and change absolutely everything, that ofc wont happen.

But still, changing everything would require them to let the reward pool drain by itself so the community wouldnt be mad about their STEEM being stolen. When the reward pool is empty, only then can they revamp everything.

Do i have big hopes that the game will survive after that time? No. Do i think the game will ever be as big as it was? No. Do i think theres a chance for them to fix this? Yes.
But then again, theres a chance ill win the lottery on Wednesday. hehe.

Still, Im one of those guys that like to give folks a benefit of the doubt. From what ive seen of the Drug Wars team they really seem to be trying lately.
Dont get me wrong, i think they are dumb as a bag of rocks and completely incompetent but i still believe they are trying and if given enough time they might be able to come up with something.

Some would say Ned and the Steemit.inc team are incompetent as well. But youre getting MIRA, arent you. 😉

Anyways… What i wanted to say is:

If everything remains exactly the same, and you want to get back as much money as you can, PUT IT ALL IN HEIST. The upgrades are exponentially more expensive and players just wont be buying them, which means you shouldnt either.

Or, you can trust Drug Wars team to come up with something that will stop the reward pool from draining, and will make your investment in upgrades more beneficial. Its up to you.

Ill see you around and keep smart… when youre Steeming. 😉

There is something about roses that really stands out to me.
