Is it Skill or Your Beliefs Holding You Back?

This is a point I have shared before but want to share again.
Anyone who reads my blog or listens to the Scaredycat investor show has probably heard me at least once say:

90% of trading and investing is psychology, the other 10% is skill.

Change Your Story, Change Your Beliefs
This is actually super powerful as most of us tell ourselves a story throughout each and everyday.
It’s that story of why something is they way it is, we rationalize things – we create excuses.
What’s the Point?
The point of bringing this up is that a large majority of the time (more than you think)

Rates are PUKING! $TNX

Rates have been getting absolutely smoked on these tariffs and the woes. The rates hikes HAVE BEEN off the table and are now 100% for the foreseeable future. In fact we may see a cut soon. This has caught me a little by surprise. After nailing the “generational bottom” in 2016 and calling the rip to 3.0+, then calling the move back until 2.5-2.6, I really thought that we would stop going down here.

So far, this has not been the case. 2.14 is heading back towards levels not seen since Q3 of 2017. And guess what? This is not

Investing Mantras I Live By

Investing mantras to live by.  These are something I like to share now and again and since it’s been close to a year it’s time to chat about them again.
Investing Mantras I live by:

If something more than doubles in price in one day – SELL HALF
Buy the dips, sell the rips!
Remember, nothing HAS to happen
You cannot be grateful and angry at the same time

Let’s quickly dig into these one by one….
If somethings doubles in price in one day (or even a few) selling half always makes sense.  Yeah, there are instances where something will triple or more, but there are

Bitcoin Technical Analysis: Bulls Defending Support

Bitcoin dropped over $1,100 yesterday in under 8 hours. Price wicked below the $8,150 support, but bulls quickly stepped in to play defense. It’s now trading around $8,400 on Coinbase.

The daily RSI has developed an ascending support line that’s been respected since December of last year. If this support holds, it may signal the bulls have enough strength to test $9,000 again.

In today’s video I discuss market psychology. We’ll try to make sense of the beautiful madness that is bitcoin, give you key areas to watch and so much more. I hope you find it helpful.

How to Track the Real Estate Market and Shift if Needed

Markets are ever changing and that is no different for real estate.  Though there is the broader real estate market the localized markets within it have their own character too. Keeping a gauge on both is key to knowing when to shift.
What worked for the past five years may not work anymore.   Think about anyone that was buying Bank REO’s (bank owned foreclosures) from 2011-2016 – those layups are gone.  There isn’t more supply than demand anymore and banks are listing these near fair market value.
That is a very specific example of when an adjustment needs to be made, some

BTC Patterns: How to Analyse Properly

We have all seen long-term Bitcoin charts with repetitive cycle overlays on them. I have published a fair share of them myself. Charts such as this:

I like patterns as much as the next guy does, in fact – I base a lot of predictions on repeating patterns. But I have a problem.

Right now BTC is not adhering nicely to any of my patterns. It started climbing hard in April, three months too early by my calculations, and now it just keeps on climbing! Every time I expect a 20-35% retracement, BTC laughs at me and adds another $1000 to its

Bitcoin Technical Analysis: The Bears Strike Back

Bitcoin has broken down and out of the larger rising wedge its been consolidating in for the last 3 weeks. Price dropped as low as $8,000 before bulls pushed it back above $8,200. A DECISIVE break below $8150 (daily candle opening and closing) would signal a larger drop to at least $7,500 in my opinion. Daily volume is relatively strong at $27.9 billion.

Price dropped quickly below the 8 day EMA, which had been acting as support.

In today’s analysis I discuss where price may be heading next, key areas to watch, possible buy/sell targets and so much more. I hope you

Bitcoin Technical Analysis: Is Bitcoin Topping Out?

Bitcoin is showing signs of exhaustion. Yesterday I said it looked like price may test the $8,400 support. Bitcoin did break down to $8,425, where buyers stepped in to push it back above $8,600.

I apologize for the lack of text…I’m Running out the door. Here are my quick thoughts on where price my be heading next. I hope you find helpful.

Bitcoin Technical Analysis: Breakout

Bitcoin finally broke up and out of the wedge it’s been consolidating in over the past 2 weeks.

Zooming out on the monthly chart, we can see the last swing high (approximately $8,480) was created back in July of 2018. Price has now officially taken out the prior swing high (on the monthly) of the bear market. In my opinion, this confirms the bottom is in.

Looking at the weekly chart, we can see the 21 week EMA is about to cross above the 55 week EMA…a very bullish indication. That said, we can also see just how extended price is, well

Psychological Stages of Investing in Real Estate

Like anything else in life the biggest obstacle to our progress is often ourselves. Most people progress through these psychological stages of real estate investing, but some get stuck.
This is something I have talked about in the past and thought worth revisiting.
Psychological Stages of Investing in Real Estate
1. Nervous Beginner
This is when you are yet to do your first deal or maybe you have even done a deal with a mentor and are on to doing one by yourself.
You have decided that investing in rental properties is the right investment for you. You are excited about it, you have done
