NEO news

I spend a lot of time saying “buy NEO”, but admittedly, not a lot of time saying why.
I don’t like people to buy something without researching it. Anyone who bothers to research NEO properly will buy it, they’ll sell their own grandmothers for NEO if necessary. Sadly it appears that most folks are too lazy to research NEO (or they REALLY love their grandmothers), they’d rather just follow the regular hype and buy whatever is trending. This is how vapourware like ADA stays in the top ten, or how centralised, over-supplied rubbish like XRP becomes a leading coin. Sheep are

Crypto Shopping Cart – 25 June

Here I am – buying yet again.
This isn’t my first buying spree of the month, I wrote about my previous round of buying in “Crypto Shopping Cart – 6 June”. Some things have changed since than, some haven’t .
Last time I went shopping I bought Holo (HOT), Ontology (ONT) and Icon (ICX). I also announced my intention to sell ETC and stock up on more CargoX (CXO). Let’s take a look at what I did this time.
A lot. I have actually been shopping three times since my last Shopping Cart blog post. The fact that I am now averaging a

Bitcoin and general tips

This won’t be a long-post, I have some “Crypto Housekeeping” to do.
It occurred to me that my housekeeping itself may be of value to my readers, so I’m quickly going to run through it with you. But first let’s look at the big names:
Metals and BTC:
Yesterday I spoke about a precious metals breakout. My criterion for the confirmation of a Gold breakout WAS met! Now I wish I had had more money to put into Gold earlier this year! The other precious metals I discussed also performed well yesterday – it looks like they may finally regain their rightful prices.

Made

Precious Metal Run

Gold has FINALLY broken out of its converging triangle by a significant margin. The breakout isn’t confirmed yet, but if Gold can close above $1360 today, then I think it will be a very strong indication that the breakout is real.

The converging triangle has been a prison for Gold for the last 5 years.

The general trend for Gold is a permanently bullish price increase. This is due to constant demand and the natural scarcity of the metal. A logarithmic plot shows how Gold broke away from a 12-year price trend in 2012, and has been lying dormant ever since. I

Lets talk about: Facebook’s “Libra”

I didn’t want to write a post about Libra.
I’m a crypto blogger and, in my professional opinion, Libra isn’t a cryptocurrency. I mentioned it briefly yesterday, as a joke, but I can see that I will have to mention it a few more times.
As an impartial, objective and knowledgeable third-party, I see it as my responsibility to correct wrong opinions in the crypto world. I can’t always convince people, but I can give them a fighting chance and I can then sleep soundly at night, knowing that I have at least tried to help. I have already seen some very

Consolidation is more likely now…

Excellent week in general for the crypto market, more in particular for BITCOIN with 15% up in a week and ZCASH which is now up 37% in the 7 Days time frame, absolutely outstanding also…People sat that possibly institutions are bringing new money, which I hope it is happening, also the hype FACEBOOK LIBRA coin may affect as well despite is too early…However, I always look at the Total crypto Market chart as a whole and what I see now is that, even if we are going up day by day lately, some consolidation period is more likely to happen

Crypto Top 20 – in one paragraph apiece

I’ve never kept my feelings towards the various cryptocurrencies a secret, but I’ve also never summed them up and put them down in one easily accessible place before. While I would love to review 1000 of them for you, that’s rather infeasible, instead I have elected to use the CoinMarketCap list of top 20 coins by market cap.

This isn’t an in-depth review, it’s just to let you know what I, The Mighty Bit Brain – keeper of arcane crypto knowledge and wisdom, think of the main cryptocurrencies currently dominating the market.

The Top 20 in one paragraph apiece

Altcoin Buying Masterplan (it’s working…)

I often share information about the coins I hold and buy. While I sometimes categorise or group them, I rarely look at my portfolio as a whole and explain it in broad terms.

This post is to explain the broad rationale behind why I buy what I buy. It’s to give you an idea of why I am focusing my altcoin investments where I am, and perhaps an idea of how that is working for me so far.

Turn back the clock

Little story of my crypto history:

Like many crypto investors, I was doing very well in 2017. Not wanting him to miss

Crypto East vs West

Apologies for the slightly clickbaity heading: I’m playing on the topic of the US China Trade War.
While the Trade War doesn’t directly influence crypto, it surely plays a roll. I believe that as inevitable market crunches loom nearer, so crypto will become ever more attractive as an investment asset – specifically as a high ROI store-of-value. We all know that crypto isn’t as stable as gold, but gold can’t offer the returns that crypto does. Obviously that is bullish for crypto in the long-run.
But that’s not what I wanted to tell you today; today I want to draw your attention

The Future of Privacy Coins

This article was inspired by the Cointelegraph which article I read yesterday titled: “Is Bitcoin’s Increasing Anonymity a Threat to Privacy Coins?”. My post today is not written as a response to it, nor is it an attempt to debunk it. I disagree with the author a little, but I still think that he wrote a good article. It made me think for myself – which is exactly what good articles should do.

The article generally takes a dim view of the future of privacy coins. My opinion is the opposite of that. Let me tell you why, and then you can
