? A Blockchain to Connect All Blockchains, Cosmos Is Officially Live

Cosmos, a highly anticipated blockchain itself designed to improve the interoperability between any number of other blockchains, has officially released a live software.

With the mining of its first block at 23:00 UTC, the project has launched Cosmos Hub, the first in a series of proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchains that will be created in the Cosmos ecosystem.

At present, users of the network will not be able to swap tokens between blockchains or otherwise connect to Cosmos Hub with existing blockchain networks until validators officially vote to activate what is called the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol.

? Strong Bitcoin Volumes Bode Well for Price Breakout

Bitcoin’s daily trading volume remains elevated at highs above $10 billion, going against the technical theory that investor interest tends to drop during periods of consolidation. Therefore, the ongoing sideways trading near $3,900 may end with a bull breakout toward the recent high of $4,20

Trading volumes have been strong since the corrective rally kicked off in early February, so a range breakdown looks unlikely.

Prices could first see a drop below $3,865 (March 12 low) due to the extended consolidation. That said, the short-term outlook would turn bearish only if the higher low of $3,743 created on March 3 is breached

? Decentralized or Nothing: Song Slams IBM Over Blockchain Hype at SXSW

More or less decentralized? For Jimmy Song, there’s no in between.

An author and partner at venture firm Blockchain Capital, Song made that point repeatedly in a debate with IBM engineer and Hyperledger Fabric co-lead Chris Ferris at SXSW Thursday, where he told the crowd at the Hilton Austin in no uncertain terms: “You either have control over your stuff or you don’t. It’s a zero or a one.”

The debate pitted permissioned blockchains – the private networks being pitched to big business – against permissionless blockchains – the technology undergirding bitcoin and other open-source networks. Billed as a “deathmatch” on the festival agenda, Song was determined to give the audience what they came for.

? CBOE Will Not List Bitcoin Futures in March, Cites Need to Assess Crypto Derivatives

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) will not add a new Bitcoin (BTC) futures market in March, the firm said in a statement on March 14.

Per the statement, CBOE is re-evaluating how it approaches trading digital assets. CBOE said:

“CFE is not adding a Cboe Bitcoin (USD) (“XBT”) futures contract for trading in March 2019. CFE is assessing its approach with respect to how it plans to continue to offer digital asset derivatives for trading. While it considers its next steps, CFE does not currently intend to list additional XBT futures contracts for trading.”

? French Court Clerks to Use IBM Blockchain Platform for Corporate Registry

French commercial court clerks will use a blockchain-based platform to record changes in companies’ legal status within the country. The development was revealed in an official announcement on March 14.

The blockchain network was jointly developed by IBM and the National Council of Clerks (NCC) and will reportedly be deployed starting in 2019 by the clerks operating in commercial courts across France. The blockchain platform is built on the Hyperledger Fabric framework and aims to increase transparency and efficiency in legal transactions associated with the lifecycle of companies in the registry.

STEEM Trading Update by my friend @cryptopassion

Here is the chart of yesterday :

Here is the current chart :

STEEMUSD.jpg

As you can see, we broke the support line around 0.49$. However, look the last candles, these candles could be an indicator of reversal and if it is the case, we will go back quickly upper than the support line again. It is a possible scenario as we had many bearish traps these last week. The second scenario is a touch (pull back) on the support line before the continuation of the drop. Let’s see 😉

? Tether Says Its USDT Stablecoin May Not Be Backed By Fiat Alone

Tether has updated the terms on its website, saying that its dollar-pegged USDT stablecoin may not be backed 100 percent by fiat reserves.
The new text states that while its stablecoin is 100 percent backed, its reserves may at times include other assets.

The website reads:

“Every tether is always 100% backed by our reserves, which include traditional currency and cash equivalents and, from time to time, may include other assets and receivables from loans made by Tether to third parties, which may include affiliated entities (collectively, “reserves”)”.

? Stellar Lumens Is About to Begin Trading on Coinbase Pro

The Stellar lumen has just become the latest cryptocurrency to be listed on Coinbase’s professional exchange.

The cryptocurrency is not yet available on Coinbase’s retail platforms, including coinbase.com or its Android and iOS apps.

? Spain: Stock Exchange Operator Pilots Collateral Pledges Digitization on Blockchain

Major Spanish stock market operator Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME) has completed its first blockchain pilot for electronic certificates of collateral pledges, according to an official press release published on March 15.

Implemented along with Renta 4 Banco, which is the only investment services firm listed on the BME, the new pilot intends to eliminate the use of physical certifications by digitizing all processes and providing network participants with real-time access to data.

? Crypto Mogul Moshe Hogeg’s ICOs Have Unusual Patterns, Analysis Finds

Best-known internationally as the chief executive of the blockchain smartphone startup Sirin Labs, Moshe Hogeg is becoming known for something else in Israel – mounting lawsuits.

As reported extensively by regional news outlets, a lawsuit filed in January claims Hogeg misappropriated funds from the sale of new cryptocurrencies for both his own gain and to benefit his investment portfolio, including Sirin Labs. The judge has reportedly given Hogeg until March 15 to settle with the plaintiff, Chinese investor Zhewen Hu.

“Crypto” – Movie trailer // Staring Kurt Russel

A couple days ago a movie trailer came out for a thriller that has something to do with crypto. Apparently Bitcoin is used to launder money so they named the movie “Crypto”.
I find that hilarious! haha.

Thats like calling “The Oceans 11″….. “Dollars” because they steal USD from the casino vault.

It kind of looks like this movie is written by folks that “know” only that crypto is bad and that Russia is bad so they decided to make a movie about it. Makes sense.

Theres this tendency in the mainstream media to associate crypto with criminal activity and this movie seems to capitalize on that.
I mean of course crypto allows for money laundering. Just like every single other currency.

Your technology is shit if criminals cant find a use for it.

lol. Its hard to explain that to people. The only thing you can do is flip a middle finger at folks that try to associate crypto with crime as if thats the defining characteristic of cryptocurrencies.

Anyways… This movie looks a bit crappy but at least we are getting a movie made about cryptocurrencies.. Thats awesome, amirite!!! hahah. 😀

Povezana slika

Ill see you around.

Help me, i suck at curation.

A few days ago i ran into a post by @shepz1 where he looks at the payouts he received from delegating to the SmartSteem bot.

In under 1 month, the returns have been to date 34.579 steem & 2.847 SBD.

On 4000 SP delegation.

So i looked at that and my first take was that it was kind of a poor return.
I compared that to my curation gains. (My active SP is exactly 3000SP+1200SP delegated to various projects)

In the last 30 days with 3000 SP i earned 24 SP (0.8% monthly return) vs his 4000 SP delegation and aprox. 41 Steem earned (1% monthly return)

I thought i was doing pretty decent considering you always lose 1 week of curation when you cancel your delegation, and having control over your Steem power and not participating in the shit show that is the trending page, while earning comparably the same amount of Steem seemed like a much better deal.

I just wasnt aware how much better it can actually get.

Slikovni rezultat za surprise funny

So i was prancing around the comment section of Shepz1 post and i ran into a guy that was claiming much higher returns then a bot can provide.
I was a bit skeptical so i replied to him and checked out his SteemWorld profile. @cryptoandcoffee.
What ive seen was that he indeed was doing much better then either me or someone that delegated to a bot.
In the last 30 days with 3600 SP he earned 54 SP from curation (1.5% monthly return) which is quite a bit more then what Shepz1 got from a bot.

https://media2.giphy.com/media/RluM0kvZXkLS0/giphy.gif

This prompted me to think that i was doing something wrong if someone with comparable SP to mine is getting double my curation.
So i asked Cryptoandcoffeee what was up and he recommended i try moving my voting to minute 12. I did so a day ago but im still waiting to see if it makes a difference. I just barely passed 5 Sp a week.

If you also checked the trending Booster post Fryst wrote you will see he claims that with booster you can make 11% back yearly and with curation you can make around 9%.
Now Cryptoandcoffee is either a curation master or something strange is going on here since if he can sustain these gains, his yearly return would be 18% which is double Fyrst is claiming for curation and 7% more then what Booster can make you.

So back to my title… Can someone please help me become a curation master? haha

Ill see you guys around. 😀

? Crypto Markets Are Trading Sideways, Bitcoin Holds $3,900 Support

The top 20 cryptocurrencies by market cap are seeing mixed signals, with losses not exceeding 1.1 percent, while some coins have seen a growth of over 3 percent over 24 hours at press time.

Market visualization from Coin360

? Thai SEC Approves Country’s First ICO Portal

Thailand’s securities regulator has approved the first initial coin offering (ICO) portal in the country,  local daily news outlet the Bangkok Post reported on March 12.

The Thai Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) board of directors has reportedly authorized the first ICO portal that allows to screen ICOs, perform due diligence, confirm smart contract source codes and conduct Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures. The operator of the ICO portal is reportedly a foreign entity.

?SEC Chair Clayton Affirms Agency’s Stance Ether Is No Longer a Security

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s chairman has seconded a colleague’s analysis that found the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency likely does not qualify as a security.

Last year, SEC Director of Corporation Finance William Hinman said during a speech that ethereum, the No. 2 coin by market cap, did not exhibit the properties of a security. At the time, he explained that he did not see a central group as being responsible for the cryptocurrency.

Congressman Ted Budd – with industry advocacy group Coin Center – asked for clarification on whether SEC Chairman Jay Clayton agreed with Hinman’s remarks. The regulator has now responded by saying he agrees “that the analysis of whether a digital asset is offered or sold as a security is not static and does not strictly inhere to the instrument.”

? IBM Quietly Enters Crypto Custody Market With Tech Designed for Banks

IBM is coming to the crypto custody space.
Later this month, Shuttle Holdings, a New York investment firm, will launch the beta version of a custody solution for digital assets built on IBM’s private cloud and encryption technologies. The companies won’t be storing cryptocurrencies and tokens themselves, but offering tools for others to do so.

Potential users include banks, brokers, custodians, funds, family offices and high net worth investors who want to do self-custody, as well as exchanges, Brad Chun, Shuttle’s chief investment officer, told CoinDesk.

? Xena Launches Leveraged Contract for Yet to Be Released Telegram Token

The Telegram token (gram) has started trading as a perpetual contract on London-based Xena Exchange. On Mar. 12, the crypto exchange launched a derivative contract for grams, with up to 100x leverage. The Xena-listed perpetual contracts are publicly tradable and are intended to provide liquidity for the gram token ahead of its release later this year.

How big of a “crypto-fanatic” should you be?

Ever since i started branching out a bit towards Reddit and Twitter i got a chance to familiarize myself a bit more with folks that support other cryptocurrencies.
The first thing you notice is that people arent only invested in their crypto financially, but emotionally as well. Which you could say is expected.

And as we all know, when you mix emotion and money things can get nuclear (not pronounced “nukilar”) very fast. I mean all you need to do is take a look at industry leaders like Vitalik Buterin, Justin Sun, even Dan Larimer and the FUD they spread about each others projects.
What can you expect then from the regular Reddit/Twitter/Medium commenter?

Yeah….
Massive shillings and fuding of other projects they arent invested in. This is exactly why i say that crypto markets are stupid. Because folks can be so emotionally invested and attached to a project that they cant let go even if holding that token is objectively a really bad idea.

Ive even seen organized groups that are knowingly targeting competing projects and spreading lies and misinformation about them under the mantra:

They will do it to us if we dont do it to them.

Preemptive strike of sorts.

The thing about those kinds of campaigns is that they can often work, especially when a project with serious flaws (many of them) is targeted. Or a project with already diminished reputation.
I cant say i support that kind of behavior when the motives are malicious and the information that is being spread are blatant lies….. but…..
Because i believe that all cryptocurrencies are

1. In competition together against the current monetary establishment.
2. In competition with each other.

And because both is true, the only way to win the “BIG FIGHT” (monetary independence and freedom from governmental control) is to clear our ranks, lift up projects of worth and shoot down projects with no future.

What i mean is that if it helps us and if its justified, reaching for the name of our competition that based on objective parameters does not belong in the spot in MC they are right now, is i think fine. Not only is it fine, but it should be encouraged since such action leads to a healthier overall ecosystem.

I know it might not be “nice” but when youre in the wild west, you are either the guy that carries the gun or youre the guy the others make to dance.

Slikovni rezultat za dancing guns wild west gif

So go out there and spread some FUD! hahaha
Do it for STEEM and the good of Crypto!

Slikovni rezultat za lets go gif

Ill see you around. 😀

? Barclays Analyst Predicts Billions in Additional Revenue From ‘Facebook Coin’ by 2021

Facebook’s own cryptocurrency, if launched, could potentially generate $19 billion in additional revenue by 2021, CNBC reports on March 11.

Barclays internet analyst Ross Sandler wrote in a client note that a cryptocurrency could establish a new revenue stream for Facebook, aiding its share price that tanked amid a series of high-profile scandals last year.

In his forecast, Sandler pointed out that the crypto-based revenue option is something “sorely needed at this stage of the company’s narrative,” stressing that any advertising-free revenue streams are likely to be well-perceived by Facebook’s shareholders. Sandler said that his more conservative revenue estimate for the new coin is $3 billion.

? Blockchain ETF Launches On London Stock Exchange Today

Independent investment management firm Invesco has partnered with digital asset investment firm Elwood Asset Management to launch a <abbr title="

While every exchange of value or data is recorded and visible to users, the identities of those exchanging, and what the money is being exchanged for, is kept private. However, the amount of money is public. “>blockchain exchange-traded fund (ETF) on the London Stock Exchange. The goal of the ETF is to invest in constituents of the Elwood Blockchain Global Equity Index and, in this way, contribute to the performance of the index as a whole.

The ETF, dubbed the Invesco Elwood Global Blockchain UCITS ETF, was first listed on the London Stock exchange on Friday, March 8, and, according to an article in the Financial Times, started trading today, March 11. The blockchain ETF is issuing 500,000 shares with a net asset value of $20 million, meaning individual shares are valued at $40. (They carry an annual management fee of 0.65 percent.)

? The SEC’s Crypto Czar Is Hitting the Road – And She Wants to Meet You

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is going on tour in hopes of meeting with crypto entrepreneurs who otherwise might not engage with the regulator.

FinHub, the SEC’s branch dedicated to interacting with tech startups, posted a notice last week that it would be visiting major U.S. cities, allowing individuals or teams to set up face-to-face meetings with agency staffers to ask questions or provide feedback about issuing tokens or other issues under the regulator’s purview.

? A Bitcoin Bull Market Is Still $350 Away

Bitcoin has established a higher low near $3,300 in the last two months, signaling bearish exhaustion.

However, a break above the Christmas Day lower high of $4,236 is needed to confirm a bearish to bullish trend change.

Bitcoin (BTC) needs to climb at least anther $350 to confirm a long-term bullish reversal, technical charts suggest.

? Overstock’s Blockchain Subsidiary Acquires Stake in Blockchain Banking Platform

Retail giant Overstock.com, Inc.’s blockchain subsidiary, Medici Ventures, has acquired a stake in blockchain banking platform Bankorus, according to a press release published on March 11.

Medici Ventures has purchased a 5.1 percent stake in Bankorus, a blockchain banking platform that enables both individuals and institutions to buy, sell, lend and store digital assets. Jonathan Johnson, president of Medici Ventures, said that “the addition of Bankorus to Medici Ventures’ portfolio of companies will further our work in building the foundation of a blockchain-based technology stack for society.” The financial details of the acquisition were not forthcoming.

? South Korean Kakao Corp’s Ground X Plans to Extend ICO After Raising $90 Million

The crypto unit of South Korea’s largest internet conglomerate Kakao Corp will repeat its initial coin offering (ICO) after netting $90 million from investors, Bloomberg reported on Mar. 11.

Klaytn, the blockchain platform which is the responsibility of spin-off firm Ground X, will now seek to raise another $90 million as soon as this week. In December 2018, Kakao had first announced that it was planning to raise around $300 million through Ground X to develop its own token.
According to Jason Han, CEO of Ground X, IDG Capital, Cresendo Equity Partners and Translink Capital were some of the venture capital and private equity funds to participate in the ICO round.

? Ethereum’s ProgPoW Proposal: An Expensive Game of Whack-a-Mole

Recently, there has been discussion regarding a proposal to migrate ethereum away from proof-of-work called ProgPoW (short for programmatic proof of work). Proponents of ProgPoW want to flip the paradigm of the cryptocurrency mining industry on its head. Their thought is: instead of building hardware to fit the mining algorithms, a somewhat “wasteful” approach, we should be using mining algorithms that are optimized for GPUs to encourage the decentralization of mining.

At first glance, ProgPoW appears to minimize the advantage ASICs have over commodity hardware, making mining more accessible and thus decentralized. But upon further inspection, it becomes evident that ProgPoW doesn’t truly democratize mining as it claims.

? Venezuelan Economist: Cryptocurrency Is ‘Good’ Money, Bolivars Are Not

The adoption of cryptocurrencies in Venezuela, first due to hyperinflation and later due to dollarization, could come to play a role in the country’s economic rebuilding.

At least that’s according to Venezuela’s most outspoken economist on the subject of cryptocurrencies, professor Aaron Olmos, who dissected the reasons for his country’s current dependency on the US dollar in a new interview with CoinDesk. A passionate advocate of the benefits of cryptocurrencies, Olmos has lectured about the technology for over two years, even leading a program focused on blockchain for IESA, the most prominent business college in the country.

? Blockchain As A Competitive Edge? CFOs Should Think Twice Before Saying No

There’s a reason some jokers in business refer to their finance group as the “sales prevention department.” Corporate CFOs and controllers take very seriously their responsibility for safeguarding company resources, especially cash. When it comes to investing in new technology, the typical CFO is likely to say “no” right off the bat, and force the person making the capital request back to the drawing board.

Investing in <abbr title="

However, the amount of money is public. New blocks can only be added in chronological order (through mining or other means of block validation), and the inherent value and information cannot be compromised.

“>blockchain technology, whether as a penny saver or game changer, should involve a different dynamic. People on the business side should be extra careful to avoid hype and instead argue the strategic benefits of exploring and experimenting with this new approach to data storage and verification. CFOs, for their part, will want to check their natural impulses and keep an open mind.

? Binance CEO CZ Hints at Creation of Fiat-to-Crypto Exchange in Argentina

CEO of cryptocurrency exchange Binance, Changpeng Zhao, has hinted at the creation of a new fiat-to-crypto exchange in Argentina in a tweet sent on March 9.

The tweet was in reply to a piece published by crypto news website CoinSpice. The article in question concerned the agreement between the government of Argentina with Binance Labs, the exchange’s investment and social impact arm, to co-invest in blockchain projects that are backed by the exchange.

Yesterday, I was saying you that we really need to break the previous TOP to continue the nice trend of the last weeks. See what was the reaction when we have broken it. A superb UP break out to confirm the break of this resistance line. We are now consolidating a little after that nice UP and a pull back on the support line is even possible. Anyway, it is again a nice indicator of a UP trend which is taking in place for the STEEM.

? Enjin Coin Crypto Soars 70% on Samsung Partnership Confirmation

Gaming cryptocurrency Enjin Coin (ENJ) is up 70 percent after news reports earlier today that confirmed a partnership with South Korean technology giant Samsung.

On Friday, media outlets in South Korea reported the partnership between Enjin, the Singapore-based company behind ENJ, and Samsung’s flagship smartphone S10, was confirmed, which ignited Korea’s investor base to jump in.

When reached out by CoinDesk for comment, Enjin provided confirmation regarding a partnership with Samsung Electronics, the specific entity behind the S10 flagship smartphone, but declined to reveal more details.

? Fidelity Crypto Chief Says Hard Fork May Delay Firm’s Support for Ethereum

Fidelity Digital Assets (FDAS) will take its time about adding support for ethereum, the executive in charge of the new platform said.

The digital asset trading and custody branch of Fidelity Investments, which went live this quarter, has developed an internal framework for evaluating any cryptocurrencies that may be added in the future, according to FDAS president Tom Jessop.

While Jessop has previously said FDAS might look to add ether and other cryptocurrencies, he told CoinDesk Thursday that the process to do so may not be cut-and-dried.

? Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse on JPM Coin: Other Banks Won’t Use It

Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of San Francisco blockchain startup Ripple, gave JP Morgan Chase qualified praise Wednesday for creating its own stablecoin, before dismissing the product’s likelihood of adoption by other banks and questioning its usefulness.

During a fireside chat at the Chamber of Digital Commerce’s D.C. Blockchain Summit in Washington, Garlinghouse said he thinks it’s “great” to have major financial players like JP Morgan “leaning in.”

But, he quickly added:

“That’s the only nice thing I’m going to say about this.”

? Japanese Finance Giant Nomura Invests in Smart Contract Auditing Startup

Japan financial group Nomura has invested in Y Combinator-backed smart contract auditing startup Quantstamp.

U.S.-based Quantstamp announced Wednesday that it is setting up a subsidiary in Japan following a “significant” investment from Nomura Holdings and Tokyo-listed internet group Digital Garage.

Chuzaburo Yagi, senior managing director in charge of innovations at Nomura Holdings, said:

“As blockchain technology is adopted in the financial world, smart contracts will play an increasingly important role. Security assurances through auditing and certification will become increasingly indispensable.”

? Leading Social Investing Platform EToro Launches Crypto Services in 31 US States

Exchange and social network for investors and traders eToro has launched its cryptocurrency trading services in the United States, according to a press release shared by the company with Cointelegraph on March 7.

Here is the current chart :

Yesterday, I was saying you that the 0.43$ resistance line was the line to break to continue the UP trend. Look how we broke it and how it triggered that nice UP Break Out. Except the symbolic resistance line at 0.50$, the next technical resistance line is now around 0.58$. Let’s see if we can reach that level quickly after a little consolidation which is in preparation now.
