Building Minnows: Small SP Delegation to @anaclark + SBI Sponsoring [W5]

Still no important change regarding activity in the STEEM Blockchain…The number of active steemians keeps going down despite a little recovery experimented one month ago.

According to STEEMTOOL we are ending the week with 5165 daily active steemians that post around 8041 posts a day…

Anyway, I am fully confident it is a question of time that we will see the recovery of the activity… I think we are very dependant on the market conditions… if the market keeps growing, we will see a massive entry of newcomers and also people who has left trying to join again in the platform .

Last week I was pleased to have found a new steemian to follow straightly since her very first post, her name is @anaclark and I think she has a lot of talent for writing and describe her thoughts…

She wrote another great post which had not the great success as her first one had, anyway, I invite you to read it:

“This is My Little Ki”

@anaclarck started at steem as many others, with very poor Steem Power… actually, she run out of Resources Credits very rapidly while trying to reply some comments that she gets at one of her posts… one of the comments was mine…and she replied later on, telling that she was run out of SP…

I decided to delegate some SP to her so she can have some RC in order to interact more frequently.

Hope people like @anaclarck will find its way and remain here.

SBI Sponsoring

This week I am going to keep my @steembasicincome shares again to @marenontherun and @mrhill , and I am also adding one exceptional runner to the “party”, he is @king-cobra and he is at the doors of becoming Minnow as well so I think he can be a very good candidate for @steevc initiative #tenKminnows .

If you like running, maybe you would appreciate this post from @king-cobra:

“Running is my life” , it is an old post but a very good one.

And that’s all for this week folks!

Steem on.

@toofasteddie

MEOS is announced. Its called “Voice”

Looks like Block. One just made a run of the mill social app. From what i see right now it has a single unique feature or spending tokens to boost your comment. Thats what is supposed to give the token value.

Spending tokens to get your “voice” heard.

I mean it sounds fine i guess but thats just a small feature. MINDS has something similar. Spending tokens to boost your post and even though it works fine there i never found the tokens to be in demand or the platform very appealing.

I havent gotten into the beta, i did sign up, so i cant be sure 100% but this hardly looks like a STEEM killer. Maybe a MINDS killer because it reMINDS me of it. (Get it. lol)

STEEM has a million and one application and utility connected to its token and a silly ERC 20 type idea doesnt really seem like a competitor.

There are a few things i do like and thats the KYC and eliminating bots, abusers, scumbags and psychopaths. I never found this “hide your identity” stuff too appealing. It allows for a lot of abuse and im not someone perpetually in ideological war with “government”.
The thing is that i dont see “Voice” being censorship resistant at all. They might not act on it but “Voice” is just a centralized app from what i can see.
Unfortunately it seems that guys that left for MEOS (Voice) like Bernie or a few other circle jerkers and abusive characters will be coming back since i dont think Voice will allow for such abusive behavior they are used to. (You celebrated too early haha)

In the end i have to give a big “MEH” to what ive researched and seen so far. Maybe theres more behind it but we will have to wait a bit to find out more.

Visibility…

Following an interesting post of @whatsup today on which she asked about LISK blockchain and why it is so interesting since, apparently, it does not have what it seems to be a disruptive technology…

In the comments section of that post, there is one on which I fully agree 100%…

@jwolf states that, only at twitter, LISK has something like 183000 Followers… besides the technical aspects, not bad at all for a crypto located at the 39th position of the TotalMarketCap…

But, what about other cryptos… let’s say, what about Cryptos focused on DApps development, purely competitors of STEEM?

For instance, TRON is a relative “young” crypto project, younger than STEEM…but located at the 11th position of the TMC already, and I would say that this position is very solid…not like STEEM which has been losing positions month after month…

Besides EOS, I don’t think there is a better blockchain than STEEM in order to develop DApps and that’s why at the “State of the DApps website” the supremacy of STEEM is evident…

But man, STEEM keeps being invisible for the audience…

Do you know how many followers we have on twitter?

5634 followers?

106000 followers of the Steemit account…

Do you know how many there are at TRON?

424000 Followers?

Are we invisible for the audience? I’m afraid it is so…

If we want this Blockchain to success we should focus on improving this aspect more than any other…

Still so much work to do guys…I hope we can focus on marketing as soon as Steem Inc will deploy the expected Economical Changes by hardforking the blockchain…or, why not starting NOW?

? Coinbase Now Supports Cryptocurrency Token EOS

Major United States-based cryptocurrency exchange and wallet service Coinbase has added support for EOS, according to a press release on May 30.

The new addition is reportedly available for trading and storage in most areas covered by Coinbase, with the exception of the United Kingdom and New York at press time.

The announcement also notes that there are no transaction fees associated with EOS; the cost is instead paid in computing resources, such as a tax on RAM, CPUs, or network bandwidth. Users that run the network also earn EOS by contributing to the computational power needed to run transactions.

? Project Libra: Everything We Know About Facebook’s Cryptocurrency

The world’s biggest social media company appears dead-set on launching its own cryptocurrency.

Facebook has yet to announce plans publicly but media reports on its crypto ambitions have emerged over the past six months, painting a partial picture of how the social network wants to capitalize on blockchain technology.

In short, a team led by former PayPal president David Marcus is building an asset-backed cryptocurrency, one designed to operate within the company’s existing messaging infrastructure (WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook Messenger).

The most recent news on the project comes from the BBC, with the British outlet reporting that the cryptocurrency – called “GlobalCoin” internally – will launch in “about a dozen countries by the first quarter of 2020.”

? What to Expect at the SEC’s Blockchain Forum on Friday

At a fraught moment for government-industry relations, U.S. regulators and cryptocurrency insiders are sitting down for a meeting.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will convene its first FinTech Forum Friday at the agency’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., discussing a range of issues related to digital assets and distributed ledger technology (DLT). The speaker roster includes a dozen legal, financial and technical experts, as well as several key SEC officials.

Yet while some see an opportunity to air the industry’s concerns and get a better understanding of the SEC’s perspective, the forum comes at a time when some major crypto firms are taking a more aggressive tack.

“If you’re unhappy with bitcoin culture, sorry, you’re the problem. Bitcoin is better off without you—you’re not cut out for the challenges ahead. You’re not good under pressure, you’re too sensitive, and you lack conviction.”

Most notably, crypto startup Circle said this month it had laid off 30 of its employees, blaming “an increasingly restrictive regulatory climate in the United States” as one factor.

? State Farm and USAA Test Blockchain Platform for Insurance Claims Process

United States insurance giant State Farm and military-affiliated bank United Services Automobile Association (USAA) are testing a blockchain-based subrogation solution with real claims data. State Farm announced the development in an official press release on May 30.

The two insurance titans are using blockchain technology to automate and streamline the subrogation process in insurance claims.

The platform purportedly allows them to automatically compile total payments, net the balance, and conduct a regularly scheduled payment between insurers. State Farm states that the blockchain solution is being tested with real claims data.

Here is the chart of yesterday :

STEEMUSD.jpg

Here is the current chart :

STEEMUSD.jpg

Today, we continued to test the resistance line at 0.43$ but we haven’t been able to stay upper and close a candle on that level. The correction is now starting and we already break 2 support line and we are now under 0.39$. Next support line is at 0.34$ so let’s hope this one will hold us.

Another Hard Fork coming!!!!

I have just read apparently all the information I get about the, let me named as “the Sudden creation of another HARDFORK for Steem” in order to implement by one side the so called “STEEM PROPOSAL SYSTEM (SPS)” on which I don’t have anything against and, by the other side, an “Economic Improvement Proposal (EIP) ” on which I have serious doubts about its efficiency as a solution.

I do not want to explain here what all of these changes would mean, instead I am going to point you to the post of @timcliff which, in my opinion is sufficiently clarifying (…or not)…
Please, read this post.

They are trying to fix “the problem” of the steem blockchain by implementing a 50%/50% rewards for content creators and curators respectively as IMO major change.
Very difficult to forecast the result of the change… looks like in principle, content creator would lost part of their rewards in order to encourage curators find good content to upvote for…
It is still to be demonstrated that this change or the change of moving from a linear rewards curve to a convergent linear rewards curve will motivate ORCAS and WHALES to change their upvoting behavior or stop delegating SP to bidbots or the like…
But this post is more related with the fact that STEEM has a problem of MARKETING as well. We are sitting at the 61th position of the TMC…

Would you think this sudden HF will help to get more investors on STEEM?

If you were an investor looking for altcoins to buy right now, which one you would choose?

The more visible, the best marketed, the one with less internal problems or, the one that is in permanent economical change since the beginning and with an uncertain HARDFORK result coming?

I’m not against improvements if they are so…but I really think the exposed proposals are drastic changes, which can complicate even more the things to the already damaged STEEM price.

@timcliff also listed as a part of the problems that:

Little to no marketing is being done.

…and there is nothing proposed yet neither a plan to solve that point and I don’t see how HF21 will fix it in short to medium term…

For me it is clear that before doing anything at the level of changing the CODE we should focus on the MARKETING aspect more seriously and, to tell you the thruth, I do not understand why the bloody SMT project is not even mention nowadays…at least now that seems that the costs will be reduced finally…

Perhaps we have to wait for the next, not the current one, Bull cycle in order to finally see someone reading how promising is the Steem blockchain…

@toofasteddie

All Time High…

…again on Author and Curation STEEM POWER REWARDS for the month of May!!!

Who was going to say to me one year ago that just by curation I would get close 30 Steem Power a month or more than 270 SP in rewards?

There is something extremely good for all the steemians still active here nowadays and it is the fact that it will be very difficult to have a better chance to increase the STEEM POWER of our account in the future as we are doing right now…

Not only because the price of STEEM is very low but also because anyone of us who keep posting, commenting and upvoting have more opportunities now of getting stake of the Rewarding Pool.

We are around 5000 daily Active steemians currently, and according to Steem.supply from @dragosroua there are 886,124 STEEM to be distributed among us:

I am very conscious on the fact that part of the reason why I am constantly breaking my All Time Record on Rewards is due to the diminution of the active members… but I am also conscious that it has brought to me the chance to further interact and engage with many actors here, enhancing my engagement and Steem network so, perhaps, I think I am not doing it so bad at the end…

Anyway, I am keeping this graph as a guide, the Gartner Hype cycle:

(Source)

I think we are exactly at the “Trough of Disillusionment” . We have passed for all the stages”This is exactly the moment on which we don’t have to be distracted by the backlash of negative chatter at this stage of the hype cycle. This is our chance to race ahead of competitors who are pulling back from their missed results against earlier, unrealistic expectations.” (read more here).

The following chart is even more clarifying:

(Source)

We still are at an EARLY MARKET, I do not know if we touched already that CHASM which separates us from the MAINSTREAM MARKET (MASS ADOPTION) , but we are going towards there and when we reach that point it would be better for us to be prepared.

Enjoy!

? Major Bitcoin Accumulation Was Underway by Big Money During Crypto Winter

The number of wallets holding between 1,000 and 10,000 bitcoin (BTC) has seen a sharp increase since the crypto market bottomed this winter, indicating significant accumulation during the price dip. The analysis was published in a new report from weekly crypto outlet Diar on May 28.

Diar’s analysis begins by comparing bitcoin’s distribution landscape today with data from August 2018, when the top coin was last trading in a circa $8,000 price range. The analysis focuses on so-called “Firm Size” bitcoin wallet addresses — defined as those holding between 1,000 and 10,000 BTC — and notes that such addresses now own over 26% of circulating supply, or $36 billion worth of BTC.

? JPMorgan Adds Privacy Features to Ethereum-Based Quorum Blockchain

JPMorgan Chase’s blockchain team has developed a privacy feature for ethereum-based blockchains, obscuring not only how much money is being sent but who is sending it.

Revealed exclusively to CoinDesk, JPMorgan has built an extension to the Zether protocol, a fully decentralized, cryptographic protocol for confidential payments, compatible with ethereum and other smart contract platforms and designed to add a further layer of anonymity to transactions. The New York-based financial institution will open-source the extension Tuesday, and is likely to use it with Quorum, the bank’s homegrown, private version of ethereum.

Zether, which was built by a group of academics and financial technology researchers including Dan Boneh from Stanford University, uses zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs), a branch of mathematics which allows one party to prove knowledge of some secret value or information without conveying any detail about that secret.

? Report: Circulation of Facebook’s Crypto Could Face Demographic Challenges

Facebook’s payment-focused cryptocurrency Globalcoin will face demographic challenges, according to recent research by cryptocurrency analysis firm Diar published on May 28.

Facebook’s native cryptocurrency — which will purportedly seek to disrupt or bypass banking networks in order to remove financial barriers and lessen consumer costs — will reportedly launch in 2020.

In its recent report, Diar suggests that the coin will face demographic challenges as the social media giant’s user base is aging.

? Bitcoin’s ‘Toxic’ Twitter ‘Culture War’ Explained

“What the heck! It’s a food fight on here. [Bitcoin developer] Matt Corallo is mad at Blockstream. Ragnar and Giacomo Zucco clubbing people left and right. Wat is going on!?”

This text from a bitcoin enthusiast friend aptly described the confusion on social media platform Twitter in recent days, when leading members of the bitcoin developer and startup ecosystem have been fighting over bitcoin’s “culture” and whether it needs to be changed or improved.

The root of the debate: Does bitcoin have a culture problem? Is there too much “toxicity”? And yet, as Twitter is a free-for-all, there were all sorts of sub-parts to the debate, centering on other questions: Is bitcoin inclusive enough? Why is Twitter so harsh? And what, exactly is bitcoin culture?

**“Bitcoin industry culture is therefore *necessarily* one of extreme skepticism, cynicism, rigorous review, and forthright language,” Woodfine tweeted, adding:**

“If you’re unhappy with bitcoin culture, sorry, you’re the problem. Bitcoin is better off without you—you’re not cut out for the challenges ahead. You’re not good under pressure, you’re too sensitive, and you lack conviction.”

? G20 Countries Start Implementing Unified Crypto Standards

As the G20 summit approaches, member countries have been discussing how to implement the standards set by intergovernmental organizations such as the Financial Action Task Force. While there may be some challenges in complying with the standards, the European Central Bank says the risks crypto assets pose to the euro area’s financial stability are manageable.

The FATF held its annual Private Sector Consultative Forum in Austria earlier this month with its members and over 300 representatives from the private sector participating. Members of the FATF are 36 countries and two international organizations including the European Commission. The FATF explained:

“The discussions focused on the mapping of virtual asset services and business models … and on the implementation of specific FATF recommendations.”

Here is the chart of yesterday :

Here is the current chart :

STEEMUSD.jpg

Since the break of the resistance line at 0.39$, the resistance around 0.43$ is blocking us. We can see clearly that it is the blocking zone at this moment but any UP move on the BTC should help us to break also that one. So let’s be patient because as I was saying to one of my readers, we are not anymore in the top 30 so sometimes, we have to wait that the moves on the BTC impact the TOP30 to have our turn with little delay.

? China’s Latest Crypto Rankings: EOS Retains Top Spot, Bitcoin in 12th Place

China updated its cryptocurrency rankings on May 23 — with eos retaining the top spot and bitcoin moving up three places.
The government-sponsored index assessed each blockchain on three criteria: technology, application and innovation.

Joining EOS in the top five was tron, ether, steem and ontology.

Despite its dominance in the crypto industry overall, Bitcoin was in 12th place. While it scored well for creativity, it placed behind EOS in the score for basic technology.

? Golden Crossover: XRP Heads for Bullish Chart Pattern as Price Climbs 27%

XRP is teasing a long-term bullish reversal, with a surge in price and a bullish chart pattern likely to occur next week.
The world’s third largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization is currently trading at $0.413 on Bitfinex, representing a 27 percent gain on the opening price of $0.3249 seen May 1.

If prices stay above the current level till May 31, the resulting monthly gain would be the biggest since September 2018. Back then, the cryptocurrency had rallied 73 percent from $0.3350 to $0.5820.

The rally seen this month appears modest in front of the stellar gains registered in September 2018. The cryptocurrency, however, may produce much bigger gains in the following months as a widely tracked long-term technical indicator is about to turn bullish.

? 0x Teams With StarkWare to Bring Speed to Decentralized Exchanges

A cryptographic solution called zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP) could help notoriously slow decentralized exchanges (DEXs) reach speeds comparable to more traditional platforms.

San Francisco-based DEX startup 0x is partnering with the Israeli software-as-service company StarkWare to test a ZKP solution called StarkDEX, which can process roughly 500 transactions per second.

StarkWare CEO Uri Kolodny told CoinDesk the goal is clear: “Non-custodial trading at scale.”

Speaking to how ZKPs could be implemented in the 0x DEX ecosystem, 0x marketing lead Matt Taylor told CoinDesk:
“Our goal is that by the end of this year we’ll have this in production, on mainnet, so that people can actually use this technology. … We intend to have this be a core part of the 0x DEX stack.”

? The Cat-and-Mouse Game of Crypto Regulation Enters a New Phase

In the relentless cat-and-mouse game between regulators and cryptocurrency developers, the cats are about to add some serious firepower – this time in the form of a global alliance.

But if you think the intergovernmental Financial Action Task Force’s forthcoming know-your-customer (KYC) compliance standards spell the end for the mice, think again. If anything, the FATF’s move, expected to be released next month, will drive developers to accelerate work on non-custodial exchanges and other tools that will make it easier for end-users to transact directly outside of regulated intermediaries.

As CoinDesk managing editor Marc Hochstein explained last week , the new rules are likely to require exchanges and other custodial entities that take custody of their customers’ cryptocurrency to obtain identifying information about both parties before allowing a transaction over their platforms.

? Computer Researcher Finds Wallet Vulnerability That Gave Same Key to Multiple Users

UOnline cryptocurrency paper wallet creator WalletGenerator.net previously ran on code that caused private key/public key pairs to be issued to multiple users. The vulnerability was described in an official blog post by security research Harry Denley of MyCrypto on May 24.

According to the post, the bad code was in effect by August 2018, and was only recently patched out as of May 23. The live code on the website is reportedly supposed to be open source and audited on GitHub, but there were differences detected between the two. After researching the live code, Denley concluded that the keys were deterministically generated on the live version of the website, not randomly.

? Daily Crypto Calendar, May, 28th?

QLC holders can stake the QLC and get Q-GAS starting from May 28, conducted on QLC Chain mainnet wallet.

The next scheduled upgrade of the æternity protocol (Fortuna / 3.x.x) should happen on May 28, 2019.

“Streamr is named as a disruptor in the mobility space and will pitch at the Plug and Play TC Innovation Day on the 28th May.”

“May 28th everyone will be able to use the fully functional Deployer #GUI for creating your very own ARK based #bridgechain.”

“Our co-founder Mo, @no89thkey will host an AMA on Tuesday, 5/28, 8:00-8:30PM (PST). ”

STEEM Trading Update by my friend @cryptopassion

Here is the chart of yesterday :

STEEMUSD.jpg

Here is the current chart :

STEEMUSD.jpg

It is done now, the resistance line at 0.39$ is now broken. As you can see on the chart, we are now blocked by the resistance line at 0.43$ but I think that this resistance could be broken much more easier than 0.39$ which was a big resistance line since weeks now. We are having a little consolidation now but we could try to break that resistance line at 0.43$ very soon.

24 days already since this post…

I am still amaze about the ingenuity of that post … they launched a shy initiative to promote steemit out of the steem blockchain borders…and the worst of everything is that 24 days have gone already and I did not manage to see anything about on twitter…

In the meantime, the market is reversing, the competitors are working hard and willing to launch a Steemit killer…and still there are people here who are debating about converging curation rewards and, 50/50% splits, downvote pools and the like…

Maybe they only think we are a gang of crazy guys trying to attract people to a useless place…

We must be crazy…

Is this the only thing you can do as a Marketing Campaign @steemit ?

Sorry guys but I am worried…

…and don’t tell me that STEEMIT is Not STEEM!

of course we are STEEM! and perhaps 5000 active steemians individuals filling twitter with seven77 push-ups may attract someone here or, maybe not because, seriously, If I would be a newbie in crypto I think I would not understand anything of what’s going on with Steem and what is trying to sell…

We need a straight message, something like “COME, BLOG and EARN CRYPTO!”

Catch it?

@toofasteddie

Hello, is there anybody out there?

Thanks to BITCOIN, STEEM is recovering some places at the Total Coin Market Cap!

That’s great!

We are placed solidly at the 59th position, improved 2 places since a couple of days ago!!!

…and all this done without no advertisement, no marketing plan, neither update at Twitter nor even at the Blockfolio Signal… NOTHING!!!!

Sorry, yes, only with the own effort of ourselves, steemians, doing the impossible to promote the use of STEEM across all the borders of Twitter, Facebook etc…

  • 777 Pushups
  • Dtube Forum
  • STEEM Meetings sporadically arranged anytime
  • #10kminnows

Where is the strategic Marketing Campaign!!!

What the heck means not being anymore at BETA???? Nothing changed besides technicalities!!!

MIRA would be a revolution only if we find USERS outside there!!!!

Forget about the SMT’s !!!! We NEED BUYERS!!! We NEED USERS!!!!

My Blockfolio signal keeps blinking about any other Crypto but STEEM.

TRYBE is rising! EOS is accelerating and we have competitors at the doors…

Holy SHIT! Steemit INC DO SOMETHING!!!!

SELL THE PRODUCT!!!! MECAGUENDIOS!
