Bond Analysis Report 9/6/19 – Price Will Continue To Go Higher

Central banks have delivered 32 interest-rate cuts globally this year as a worsening U.S.-China trade war drags down global economic growth. Swap markets suggest we’re not even at the halfway mark for cuts yet.

Traders are expecting much more. Over the next 12 months, interest-rate swap markets have priced in around 58 more rate cuts, assuming central banks maintain their current trajectories in easing. Those cuts could total another 16% in global reductions.

Source

And when it comes to the US, the Equity and Bond markets have already priced in further rate cuts.  The Fed’s target rate range is between 2% and 2.25% after a cut of 25 basis points in July.  If Fed Powell doesn’t continue to cut rates, many on Wall Street (and Trump) are saying the Feds will cause the next recession.  A big part of this thesis is when the Feds raised rates four times in 2018 with the last one causing that massive sell-off in December (Merry Christmas).

The US Feds are in a tough spot because the US economy is actually still growing…just at a slower pace.  The economy expanded by 2% in the second quarter and consumer confidence is still near all-time highs. Based on the historical correlation between the stock market and consumer confidence once the index hits 100, consumer confidence may be about to dip, which could hit the retail space hard and evidently the stock market.

Source

But what’s going on around the world can’t be ignored, the global economy is slowing down.  And probably more important, the invert yield curve can’t be ignored either because it’s only predicted the last 5 or 6 recessions.

And so, from a fundamental standpoint, based on the continued rate cuts around the world, I expect the 10 yr bond to continue to move higher over time. However, from a technical standpoint, price is currently in a monthly supply zone. The chart suggests price will pull back, before moving higher.

On the daily chart, price should at least stall at these levels, if not react and move higher.

This post is my personal opinion. I’m not a financial advisor, this isn’t financial advise. Do your own research before making investment decisions.

U.N. flags need to cut meat to curb land use impact on global warming

U.N. flags need to cut meat to curb land use impact on global warming (Reuters)

  • According to a recent report by the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), global meat consumption must be reduced to curb global warming and alleviate strains on stretched land and water resources.
  • As human use directly affects more than 70% of the global ice-free land surface, plant-based foods and sustainable animal-sourced foods could free up several million square kilometres of land by 2050 and cut harmful emissions.
  • Last year’s report called for rapid changes across society to keep the temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius, while this year’s report states that “[t]he window for making these changes is closing fast. If there is further delay in reducing emissions, we will miss the opportunity to successfully manage the climate change transition in the land sector.”

Analysis and Comments

  • According to the report, agriculture, forestry and other land use activities accounted for 23% of total net man-made GHG emissions during 2007-2016 (excluding pre- and post-production activity in the food system).
  • While the IPCC stops short from actually telling people to go meat-free, it does advocate the benefits of a more plant-based alternative diet, which may be seen as a positive for players in this space (although this is not exactly news).
  • The Guardian published a highly critical response to the IPCC’s land and climate report (saying that it “irresponsibly understates the true carbon cost of our meat and dairy habits”), which includes a number of very interesting figures – well worth a read!

? Blockchain Startup DappRadar Raises $2.33M From Naspers, Blockchain.com

Lithuanian blockchain startup DappRadar, a platform for discovering and analyzing blockchain-based decentralized applications (DApps), announced it raised $2.33 million in seed funding.
$2.33 million to expand services

On Sept. 5, DappRadar announced the closing of a $2.33 million seeding round, which was led by Naspers, a South African-based global internet and media group. Blockchain.com Ventures, a venture capital fund and subsidiary of Blockchain.com, and Angel Invest Berlin were also among the participants.

? Ethereum’s Istanbul Hard Fork Implementation Delayed to Early October

Ethereum’s testnet activation of the Istanbul hard fork has been pushed back to early October, according to the community manager of the Ethereum Foundation, Hudson Jameson.

According to CoinDesk on Sept. 6, Jameson said on a developers’ call that the testnet launch of the hard fork is now scheduled to take place in the beginning of October.

He added:

“For anyone listening in who doesn’t know how this works, we pick a block number that we estimate to be around the 2nd of October. […] However, that might be one or two days behind or forward from that date based on how fast blocks are produced between now and then.”

? The State of Security Token Regulations in Asia

Since the cryptocurrency boom and initial coin offering craze of 2017, many countries in Asia have taken steps to clarify their regulations surrounding cryptocurrencies and security tokens.

In this article, we focus on the three countries that have the clearest regulations in place regarding digital assets, though there is still more work to be done.

? Fed Chair Says Agency Monitoring Crypto But Not Developing Its Own

Chairman of the United States Federal Reserve Jerome Powell said that the United States Federal Reserve is monitoring digital currencies carefully, but not working on its own at the moment.
Speaking at a forum in Zurich, Switzerland, on Sept. 6, Powell addressed the issue of cryptocurrencies, arguing that central banks would likely will not release their own digital currency in the near future.

Powell added that cryptocurrencies raise a range of concerns including cyber security issues:
“If you think about one currency that was for the United States, it would really need to be cyber secure because it’s one thing to be able to counterfeit paper currency, it’s another thing to hack into a cyber currency and create, with a computer, however much of it you want.”

? How Celsius Turned Its Crypto ICO Into a Billion-Dollar Lending Business

 The Takeaway:
Crypto lending startup Celsius raised $50 million in a token sale in 2018.

Lending volume has surged since then, with 10,415 Celsius users taking out fiat loans after locking in crypto collateral.

BitGo confirmed to CoinDesk that it held $1 billion worth of crypto deposits from Celsius over the past year.

CEL tokens are trading for roughly the same price today as they were last autumn, shortly after the token sale.

So far, Celsius says it has not been contacted by any regulatory body with concerns about CEL tokens.

Here is the current chart :

Till now and also due to the BTC correction, the UP that we had yesterday is becoming a simple PUMP and DUMP. We almost lost all the UP of yesterday so yeah, just consider it as a false signal. I traced for you the low on the STEEM around 0.155$. It is really possible that we go touch it quiet soon. Let’s see if we will have a bounce on that level.

Crypto Contest September 7: Dragon Coins

Dragon Coins (HitBTC: DRGBTC) has broken out of the triangle pattern in the four-hour chart.

(Chart courtesy of Tradingview.com (log scale))

Elliott Wave Analysis

In Elliott Wave terms, Dragon Coins began a wave one advance on August 19. The red wave one (blue sub-waves i-ii-iii-iv-v) finished on August 30, and the red wave two (blue sub-waves a-b-c) correction ended on September 5. If this wave count is correct, Dragon Coins should be heading next towards the August 30 peak in the red wave three.

(Chart courtesy of Tradingview.com (log scale))

Zooming out in the daily chart, I believe Dragon Coins is currently in the red wave three (blue sub-wave iii). The red wave three began on August 19.

Things need to get easier for me… Happiness (Poem)

It’s been a while that I have prepared a new writeup. The posts I upload most of this days are the ones I wrote a whole ago. I do come up with at least 3 articles per day normally but I haven’t been able to come up with any for the past few weeks now.

Things has not been too rosy for me lately. I really need things to get easier for me. I hate stress even though I know we can’t do without it. I need everything to fall in place real soon so that I can put all my concentration back into these online things.

God, please kindly intervene in my matter and help me out. Make everything fall in place for me and for other people that needs your help as well. Thanks to you for all you’ve done.

Happiness, the sole proprietor of good things
Happiness, the healer of a sad mind
Happiness, the true companion of an angry person
Happiness, may we all experience it in all of our endeavors

DIY Replacing a bath with a shower – Part III

I don’t think I mentioned this before, but I am building a walk in shower. The reason being that I can have a large entrance, so that it would be easier and less effort to go shower.

It also fits well in the space left by taking out the bath, bases for showers can be quite inexpensive, however if you start looking at bases for walk in showers things get crazy.

So we make our own. Above is the layout I chose, still having the bricks form the outline of the shower, but arranged differently so that the profile was as low as possible.

All the bricks mortared in place. I was considering chopping out the tiles underneath but considering that I will be casting cement over it, I doubt it would be an issue.

I split the base in two so that I can taper the portion with the drain inward and make sure all the water flows nicely away. The part on the right of the screen will also be tapered, but can have a simple slope which is easier to do.

Remember I am in IT, I am not a builder so I wing it and improvise / learn as I go along.

It was getting close to the time for my mother-in-law to move in, so I was trying to get things done quickly, hence no in between photo’s 🙁

Here I am chipping the tiles away from the wall, I will be building a wall of glass blocks and wanted to make sure that they would be more secure against the wall. Mortar does not stick well to tiles, so they had to go.

Fortunately the existing tiles got up to about the same height as I want the wall to go, it’s as if it was meant to be!

Here I was doing a trial fit to see how well I had calculated the need for the blocks. Even though the length was largely determined by the mark left on the wall where the bath was, it works out ok.

A different view with the blocks. Is it starting to make sense? For me this is the part where this project became more rewarding, seeing how something you had, only in your mind, seeing how that develops and progresses.

? China’s National Crypto Similar to Libra, Central Bank Official Says

A top official at China’s central bank has confirmed that the country’s forthcoming digital currency will bear similarities to Facebook’s Libra token.

The English-language website of the Hong Kong Economic Journal reported the news on Sept. 6, citing prior coverage by Shanghai Securities News, which is owned by the official Chinese state-run Xinhua News Agency.
“We need to plan ahead for a rainy day”

Mu Changchun — deputy director of the People’s Bank of China (PBoC)’s payments department — has said that China’s digital currency will be supported across major e-payments platforms such as Tencent’s WeChat and Alibaba-backed Alipay.
The tokens will be guaranteed by the central bank and thus as secure as PBoC-issued paper notes and can be used without an internet connection, to ensure that transactions can continue even in the event that communications networks are down.

? Binance Launches Dollar-Backed Crypto Stablecoin With NYDFS Blessing

Crypto exchange Binance is launching a dollar-backed stablecoin in the U.S.

Moreover, the new Binance USD (BUSD) has received the blessing of the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS). The exchange announced Thursday that NYDFS had approved the new offering, which Binance is launching in partnership with the Paxos Trust Company.

The Binance stablecoin will be backed by U.S. dollars on a 1:1 ratio, according to a press release. The offering joins the Paxos Standard and the Gemini Dollar as an NYDFS-approved stablecoin.

At launch, verified Paxos customers will be able to directly purchase BUSD tokens through the company’s wallet using either U.S. dollars or PAX, its own stablecoin. Binance users will likewise be able to trade BUSD for bitcoin, binance coin or XRP.

? Blockchain, Cryptocurrency Not Proven Safe Havens Says Investor Mark Mobius

Mark Mobius, major investor and founding partner of Mobius Capital Partners, is still bearish on cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology… with some caveats.

Speaking on CNBC’s The Squawk Box this morning concerning emerging markets and safe-haven asset classes, Mobius said cryptocurrencies, like fiat, are backed by faith and only hold utility as far as others are willing to use them.

“The bottom line is there is a whole generation of people who have faith in the internet, they have faith in these cryptocurrencies…the degree to which a cryptocurrency can enable you to buy something and you believe that to be the case, then that’s fine.”

Mobius said a gold-backed cryptocurrency run on the blockchain would be of interest, however. “If there is a cryptocurrency that is really backed by gold and there is a meaningful agreement and some kind of modern thing connection, then this could be quite interesting,” he said.

? Someone Just Moved $1B in Bitcoin for $700 Fee, Overpaying 20 Times

A $1 billion Bitcoin (BTC) transaction has become conspicuous not because of its size but because its sender spent far too much on fees.
Someone could have sent 94K BTC for $35

Social media users were guessing at the origin and destination of the funds on Sept. 6, which involved 94,504 BTC ($1.018 billion).

According to Twitter-based monitoring resource Whale Alert, the transaction did not involve known wallets or those belonging to a specific cryptocurrency-related organization, such as an exchange.
One theory suggested the funds may be tied to institutional trading platform Bakkt, which begins accepting client deposits today.
“Institutions

building inventory for their market-making needs going forward,” commented Max Keiser on the giant transaction. He added:
“This = effective ‘put’ on the BTC price at $9,000 (as I’ve been reporting for several yrs now). Ie, institutions are net-buyers of any BTC that shows up at $9k. Risk/reward now for buyers is excellent.”

STEEM Trading Update by my friend @cryptopassion

Here is the chart of yersterday :

STEEMUSD.jpg

Here is the current chart :

STEEMUSD.jpg

Yesterday I was saying you that we need an increase of volume and volatility to break the support line at 0.18$. It happened only some hours after my article. The only negative point is that we are doing a pull back on this support line at 0.18$ but we already broke back the support. It is not a drama as this kind of pullback is not always precise but we must see in the coming hours a bounce from the levels at 0.18$ and see a UP continuation to validate this nice movement. If it is not the case, I’m afraid that this UP would have just been a pump and dump…

High Quality Content or an advertisement tabloid?

I am watching the trending page at steemit…

Hey, we managed to fire out all of those bid-bod abusers!!!

That’s really great!

More steem returning to the reward pool to be used on high quality posts!!!

But wait, is it what I see now what we all expect as a high quality content?

From top to bottom:

This is what I see now at the trending page…

Huge eSteem iOS 2.2 update now available to Apple users , Ok, great, I am very happy with this new and I am using it unstoppably since yesterday…thanks @esteem !

Can a non-technical, non commercial project be supported on Steem? The Steem ecoVillage  … Great! More Ideas, more developments… I love the message about “Create An Off-Grid Community Based on the Gift Economy!”… I will read it carefully when I will have some spare part…

The Bismuth Governance Shift, Part 2 … what the heck is…?! buuff…too much for me, sorry, no opinion here…

The First Blockchain Shooting Game is Here! … this is funny, a good idea of an ETH blockchain-based game … the good thing here is that the author burned some SBD to be on the trending page in order to promote this post and decided to refuse rewards, which is intelligent under the point of view of an advertisement use-case…

BISMUTH CHESS 960 Tournament – Friday, 6th 19:00 UTC … another advertisement about a Chess tournament… just a few lines…poor content in… I would say it is also overpaid due to bid-bots use…

Congratulations to the Winner of the Steem Fest ticket sponsored by Blocktrades and Steem  … 90 USD to announce the winner of the steem Fest ticket sponsored by blocktrades… buufff, is this high quality? This is an example of…?

OCD Content Creator Onboarding Program (Apply here) … same here?

BUZZi Top Creator / Top Posts Rewards Event… 89 STU

Advertisement, rear advertisement rear advertisement…. 8 out of the 10 top trending posts are advertisements… I had to scroll down a few times in order to see something interesting and attractive, opinion posts, steem related topics… not bad, not bad…

Today I did not find anything downvotable on top of the trending page but either I have not seen anything remarkable under what I expect to be considered as a High Quality content on top…

If a newby/investor comes and tries to check in TRENDING what do you think he will do after? … I might be wrong but I think that most likely he will close the tab and open the bloody FACEBOOK again…

Fortunately I have my own “feed” and the tribes, in particular, STEEMLEO and SPORTSTALK and, sometimes also PHOTOSTREEM and LIFESTYLE… there I can find the topics I like more and, if I am lazy I can enjoy some nice pics and provide some BEER tokens to the people I engage with…

Yes man, I am able to consider one PIC a high quality content post if I like it and it invites me to interact with the creator.

We don’t only need Master Degree steemians for any speciality to post on the steem and share ideas, opinions, feelings, find solutions, help and ask for help… For me, besides the content, QUALITY means also ENGAGEMENT and I am not sure that now this property is better promoted…

Perhaps, we have to find another TRENDING filter now… one for creators and another for advertisers…
